Recommendations on 20 gauge over under

What the title says.…it will be used for dove and riding around in the side by side 90% of the time, not sure what the other 10% is yet. I have a bunch of shot guns but the only over unders I have are a 12g Citori and 410 yildiz.

I want something light yet can take a beating. I don’t care if it gets knocked around and hope to add some character to it before I leave this world.

He’s meaning there are other options priced around the same of the Beretta O/U but that it is the best value for similar priced guns.

As others have said the Beretta 686 is a solid choice.

Another good option would be the Browning 725, a major competitor to the 686. It's also offered in a pistol grip, Prince of Wales grip and straight English stock as well. Not to mention the many different grades available to suit your taste or needs. With you already owning a Citori, it could be a really good fit for you.

Above all I would say get the one that fits you properly and are comfortable with. Maybe see if a friend has one that you can shoot a round of clays with to try it out. Some clay ranges will also have both the 686 and 725 available for rent for a side-by-side comparison.

All the guns mentioned above are fantastic! A cheaper option (approx 1/3) to ride around in the side by side and to get dusty and scratched and to use as a boat paddle would be the CZ Drake. Cerakoted barrels and wooden stock.

Browning white lightning lightweight is growing on me. Been shooting a lot of skeet with it lately. Nice little gun that may end up as my grouse gun this year.

@KTEX : Browning makes a Citori with an aluminum alloy frame that is just at or under 6lbs. If you are prioritizing “Light weight” that might be worth a look. For ease of carry - it’s great… although it is unlikely to hold up to high volume skeet/clays shooting (50,000+ rounds) as the alloy receiver will wear faster then the heavier steel receivers, but for a lifetime of hunting it should be fine.

+1 for the Citori. One of the best endorsements for new guns I can cite is the number for sale on the used market.
Though the Citori is still made by the tens of thousands each year, the numbers of used ones you see at the normal sources is relatively few, comparatively speaking.

I have two of these shotguns. One 12 ga. and another in 20 ga. They're used mainly for hunting Pheasants and the 20 Ga. gets used 90% of the time.

i have a older 20 ga citori up land special 26" barrels with plain Invicta tubes that fits that need for me. i paid 6oo.oo used from a friend 6-7 years ago. added slip on pad not for recoil, length as i like a long gun.
