I am looking for recommendations for a UK outfitter. My primary interest would be CWD, Muntjac, Fallow, Roe, and possibly, a Red Stag.
I would prefer an outfitter that has accommodations for lodging and meals, but I think that is less common there, so open to hotel and restaurants as well for a good outfitter.

Please specify if you have personally hunted with the outfit or if you are just recommending them because you heard they were good from others.
Thank you in advance!

I hunted with Tusk and Antler last year for Roe. There were a lot Muntjac around but they were all still in velvet at the time.

It’s a really nice part of the country and not far from London. Oliver is a great guide and will treat you right. My hunting report is below.

I don’t have a recommendation but just something to keep in mind. Prime time to hunt roe deer is April/May and late July/early August. They lose their horns in fall. Red stag rut end of September. Fallow deer rut end of October. I’m sure someone can combine several for you but you might pick a priority animal and base your hunt around it.

That is really good info. I assumed one or two might be out of season compared to others. But wasn’t sure.

Any idea on when muntjac are out of velvet and still with antlers?

I haven’t looked into hunting muntjac so I don’t have any information on them.

It will depend a bit on the part of the country you’re hunting in. When I was hunting in early Aug in southern England the Muntjac’s were still in velvet, but I was told they would be loosing it soon.

If you hunted in England in September you could do Roe and Muntjac, but I would ask for guide. Seasons will also differ in Scotland if you’re looking to go after red deer.

I would try to narrow down a bit exactly what you want to focus on species wise, as the ones you list are better hunted at different times of the year.

Roe as mentioned are a spring / summer hunt. All the others mentioned are hunted in the autumn and winter, but the Red and Fallow rut in Autumn if hunting them in the rut is a priority for you.

I would look in the East Anglia region of the UK - it has all the species you mention.

I can recommend and have hunted with Chris Rogers at Euston estate in Suffolk.

Have a read here for more info on the different deer species - https://bds.org.uk/information-advice/about-deer/

Something I forgot to mention is watch out for deer parks. These are estates where a wide variety of game is kept for viewing and shooting purposes. They are normally pricey and offer a wide variety of species. This is not stalking. The animals are near tame and you basically pick the one you want and just walk up and shoot it.

If you see somewhere especially is southern or middle England that offers red deer along with a lot of other stuff it’s a deer park.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
