Recommendations for Caprivi

Who has experience with outfitters in the Caprivi strip in Namibia?
A hunting friend and I are looking for a 2:1 hunt next year, some days at a farm of a friend and before or afterwards approx. 7 days in Caprivi looking for crocodile (my friend) and buffalo (myself).

Any recommendations?

Karl Stumpfe of Ndumo Safaris I think he has the most areas in the Caprivi. I hunted elephant with him a few years ago. Great outfitter.

I hunted with Karl at Ndumo this last March. Awesome experience and I took an Elephant, Buff, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Hippo and a Roan. I highly recommend Karl and his team; I will definitely be going back next year.

I’d prioritize the outfitters that actually hold Caprivi concessions over those buying quota. There are only a few. Then prioritize the concessions that have both buffalo and croc. Here’s a good map of Caprivi hunting concessions. I had great hunts with Jamy Traut Safaris but they don’t currently have buffalo on quota. If I was to go back to Caprivi I’d want to hunt the bwabwata park concessions. West is held by Kou Kuas. East is held by Omujeve.

I was there last year. Hunted with Jamy but also went to BwaBwata right next door
That’s what you want… or Karl at Ndumo
But I can tell you first hand the game in the park is far more abundant.
You will see a TON of Elephant etc too

Have hunted in Bwabwata West with Emile @KOU KUAS ADVENTURES and going back next week. Highly recommend for old Africa, wide open spaces, type experience.

One add'l bit of info with Karl and Ndumo, I mostly hunted Sobbe Conservancy which is very thick mopane and borders the national park, but was also able to spend a day at his Balyerwa Conservancy which is flood plane along the Kwando River and that's where my hippo came from and had a couple of stalks on Red Lechwe.

I hunted with Omejuve in 2022 out of their Ivory Camp. Had a great hunt and overall experience. Saw lots of game to include buffalo and crocs. We were on the Kwando River.

I’ll be back in the Caprivi in August with Thormalen&Cochran after buffalo and some PG. the Caprivi is a wonderful place to hunt for sure.

I hunted with Thormahlen and Cochran, and fished the Zambezi at one of the Ndumo camps. Both outfitters did a great job.
