Received Daughter's Giraffe Today

Would anyone out there know roughly how much it would cost to have a giraffe hide tanned and shipped to U.S. from Namibia?
The tan would be $2k or so us plus shipping I shipped all mine together and it was $2500

Wish I had more but not sure on a one hide shipment but know the tanning is 2k us which is a lot cheaper than here her cape was 1k there and like $1500 here just for the mount Lol

Congrats, it's a beautiful mount!!! Stunning!!!
I'm happy for your daughter too! I would like a giraffe too, but don't have the room for one.

You'll just have to go l build on! Perhaps raise the ceiling into the attic space? The only limitations are your imagination! And that pesky budget....

Look's great.. Never gave them much thought to be honest. How high are your ceilings?

I current don't have to worry about space, all my mounts are in storage, it's when I buy a place to live in again...that it becomes a problem. I want the perfect mancave/garage, I'm not sure I can get what I want.....

My intent is to just build the next home. On a lot with a boat load of land. Far more convenient to shoot at home than to drive 40 minutes. Then I can get that vaulted ceiling great room for all my hunting ambitions

Been there done that storage thing.....Hated seeing my trophies on the floor in storage. All the best for you.

I will be building a 2 car "garage" onto my place for a trophy room. 12' walls plus vaulted ceiling. From the outside it will look like a garage complete with overhead doors and could easily be converted to suck (by future owners of course) but inside it will have a raised entertainment area in the center with bar at my back, big screen tv in front, and couches/chairs in a C around it, full surround system and of course mounts surrounding the whole deal. Cant wait. :)

Sounds great. Have to post some pictures when completed.

Very Nice! I know you are a proud Dad, Congrats!

Great Mount. Really gives a good impression of the size of a Giraffe.
Well done.

One would have to assume you would have to mount a giraffe back here in the states. Shipping would be ridiculous

I actually think it works out close to same money cheaper to mount there for sure but work not as good. Not even sure they have seen a form like daughters is mounted on.

Mounting giraffe period is expensive tanning for the cape here is about $4500-$5500 and have seen $7500 friend mounted his over and with shipping was cheaper but the work does not compare to work here

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
