Rebore 0.270 to 9.3x62

I’m sure JES rebore has done it. But honestly I think it’s more predictable to go with a new barrel. I sent a previous 270 to McGowen and they put a 9.3x62 barrel on it easy and affordable

I agree with Wildwilderness. But, if you are serious about boring out the barrel, research gunsmiths in your area or region of the country who does the work you want. Then, ask if your barrel diameter at the muzzle can even be used, and the cost for the work and shipping if required. If the 'smith will only return the work to an FFL, there can be an additional cost as well. If you decide to re-barrel, there are custom barrel manufacturers like the one Wilderness recommended, ER Shaw and more, that are not that expensive. Price compare both options, consider the pros and cons, then you can make an informed decision.

If the bore can not be totally/completely cleaned up after the rebore, then you would need a new barrel. As mentioned, what is the muzzle dia?

Call JES rebore and leave a message. He'll call you and discuss your options.
This is a great option if you have a 270 you don't use and want to experience 9.3x62.
It only takes a few hundred dollars and a few weeks.

But if you want a nice 9.3x62 to take to Africa you might be happier investing the time and money to get a nicely finished rifle with proper barrel markings.

Saw a good looking knife you posted a pic of with the watermelon. Can I ask the make? Looks like you hunted with Guav Johnson? We overlapped in the Save once. Would like to hunt with him one day..
