Price Rise 460 Weatherby Euromark For Sale

If the barrel was cut off of this 460 WB and the sight reinstalled, then load it to 458 Lott or 450 Rigby levels, you'd have a nice rifle to hunt with. If I'm not mistaken, these came/come with 26" barrels, so it would still leave you with a useable barrel length once the ports were eliminated. Maybe 22"?
22 15/16".

Can't take advantage of someone, thank for your offer ....
It was a joke Bas! I took advantage of myself at the price I sold it to him for.

Sorry to hear that. It's a common lament of better than average rifles being sold by today's knowledgeable weapon owners.
I almost refuse to sell something unless I take a 40% loss ! But shrewd buyers have many times caused me to loose 60% !
Guess it's easy to see I never caught on to making capitalism work for me!

There's only a couple of rules I have about cartridges. One is not to chose a cartridge you automatically want to download. Makes no sense to me. Just make it the one you really want and all other problems are resolved.

On Weatherby.com it gives a chart on barrel reduction and what you'll give up.
The 460 holds up VERY well !

Buy high. Sell very low. I thought that was the way capitalism worked. At least that's the way my ex-broker seemed to operate.

That too seems to be the way gun selling works for me in this and older economies.!!!

Seeing that a 450 Rigby is basically a 460 WBY without the belt, you wouldn't really be downloading it very much at that level. I would imagine the buffalo wouldn't mind being hit with 200 fps less, but your shoulder would probably appreciate the help! Good luck selling it. It's a beautiful rifle.

I've been in rough shape with flu/respiratory since December 30 and haven't been up and about so to speak .
As I'm starting to leave the "fever comas" I think I may leave a semi coherent note now.
He who has a 460 Weatherby and doesn't use it to it's full potential only cheats himself. The man needs to fit the gun, not the other way around. Would someone buy a fiery racehorse then reduce it's ability because of personal inability to ride the steed ? We all know the true answer.
I haven't complained about the recoil and I'm no longer a young man. But the muzzle blast is another matter. This is because the rifle came with holes in the barrel, not something I can just unscrew.
My actual goal is to get the DGR model where I can take the brake off, have a more rugged stock and gain a round in the hold. I don't like to baby my hunting weapons, rifle bow, muzzle loader. I expect my tools to be able to take whatever their pissy old owner can. If I can take it so should they. Otherwise they shouldn't be with me.

About those extra footpounds of energy. When I first (over 45 years ago) became interested in guns and calibers I read all I could find and pored over loading manuals. I thought "that would be devastating to be shot by a .357 mag." Then "being hit by a 30-06 would be unimaginably bad". Soldiers that were very unfortunate found out.
Then it occurred to me "getting hit by both at the same time would border on savage atrocity ". That is when I got my 300 Weatherby mag. You see, there are many ways of observing killing power, but allow a "beast to be a beast" and settle for less if you see fit. Questions?

Well.....if you cut the barrel off of that big 460 of yours and leave her with no brake whatsoever....then fire full power loads of 500 grains @2600 fps....a Beast you will have! Enjoy riding your stead!:LOL::LOL:

I will take it-- if you can see a way to throw in 2 oz of 24 k certified gold-- might help me offset the price jump -- in my simple mind

thanks Frank

You sure would get a great deal that way, but if I had the 2 oz. of gold I wouldn't need the deal !

Hello,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?

Thank you.
