Pretty scary days to be a Gunsmith in Canada

It seems real strange to me that they had EMTs and an ambulance all ready and waiting and they rushed him off so fast. And what happened to the client who's rifle he was working on? Why hold his wife at gunpoint? Usually a no knock warrant is a SWAT job, not the local flunkies and SWAT does not sneak up. They have all kinds of gear and give fair warning. Something, many things, really stink about this fiasco. I guess dirty cops and filthy politicos are a fact of life worldwide. This stridently hollers politics. Scare tactics to get honest people to get rid of their guns. Kill off a few. That'll get results but it could backfire on them.

At this point it looks like a planned execution. I mean they brought their own ambulance from 150 kilometers away! They intended to haul away and control the body.

This is insane…

At face value this incident stinks. That it happened in a free society is almost unfathomable. "Ruby Ridge" comes to mind. I hope that the Lawyers involved are able to unsnarl the facts and red tape" sufficiently to get to the bottom of what happened. In the meantime my condolences go out to his family and friends. I'm hoping that our Canadian members keep us apprised of further details as they come to light.

Shit, i thought Australia was screwed, but if its true this is very worrying, our western societies are on a down hill slide! May be a War with China Will get these left wing turds running our lives thrown out in a fight for survival.

They’d just join in with the other side.

Very troubling. Seems like if law enforcement had anything reasonable to warrant such a strong action that they would have come out with it by now. I hope his wife finds herself made whole through the court system. Like enough that the great grand kids will never have to work.
Yes absolutely. But these liberal governments just don't care. They just tax and print more money.

I’m suprised the CBC published that without a slant.
@Aaron N
I found the person giving the statement for the family excellent, giving the facts without anger and with controlled emotion and just wanting answers.
I hope the killers responsible are bought to justice and get what the deserve.
So many unanswered questions.

@Newboomer
I feel it will have the opposite effect. It will make people more determined to hang onto their guns, and result in more people actually having firearms.

@DG Gunsmith
Smells of one big cluster fuck and cover up to me.
You can bet your balls all officers involved already had their witness statements organised before they left Toronto.
I wouldn't be surprised if other witnesses have been threatened in the process.
Just MY thoughts

Most likely... I lost all faith in the RCMP, years ago... But, I'd still held the OPP in relatively high regard... As o' this moment, I have lost all respect for the OPP as well as the RCMP... Pretty sad state o' affairs, to say the very least... Both Organizations obviously got their training from the Geheime Staatspolizei...

Agreed

In Australia the Liberal party is equivalent to the Republican Party

RE: the ambulance on scene. i worked 20 years on a medic rig. if there was a police operation that was known about, or a shooter involved, we (the medic rig) were sent to stage at the scene in case an officer or perp was shot.

not saying that this incident was not horrible and heads should not roll, just how our dept. responded in support of the police in the case of possible injury to the police.
