Powder & Primer Deals Today

Well, as Vista Outdoors owns Alliant, CCI, Federal and Remington (ammo), I'm sure they're seeing how high they can raise their prices before everyone cries uncle and stops buying some of their products. I cried uncle some time ago on powder and primers. I'll use what I have available and like you substitute where I can. More and more I'm looking for sales deals on factory ammo. Heck, the cost of reloading brass for some of these cartridges doesn't justify reloading them if one can get a good deal on factory ammo.
Vista was selling off all ammo brands to a Czech firm as of December

Not sure that deal is going to go through…

CZ pulled out of their equity stake in Vista last week… the way things are looking, others may follow soon…

That said, Czechoslovak Group owns fiocchi and B&P.. and has expressed interest in expanding its global brand in defense and ammunition markets.. so… maybe they won’t pull out of the deal…

(CSG is a completely different firm than CZ)

HAs anyone used these as LRM?

The smaller printing on the box indicates that these are Unis Ginex (presumably "Cam Pro" just being a marketing name).

I've used Unis Ginex small pistol primers and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again if available. With the small pistol primers I tested 2 identical (save for brand of primer) 10 round batches in 9mm Luger. The first batch had CCI small pistol primers, the second Unis Ginex. Average velocities were 1097 and 1099 fps respectively, and standard deviation was 14 and 16 fps. Firing pin primer deformation was identical.

Given the performance of their Small Pistol Primers, I'd quite willing to try any of their rifle primers.

I’m curious did anyone actually purchase sny? Reason I ask is when I called, the employee today said “ we might have had some earlier or the system glitched and sent out emails to the waitlist saying in stock when they aren’t “

I did not, but I was under the impression that someone on another forum did get some. I also saw a notice that some Fed 215's had been in stock at another online retailer. They were gone very quickly apparently. Primers don't seem to last long....... At least we're starting to see some show up for sale.

For What It's Worth, my local gun shops and Bass Pro Shop are stocking in quantity, a variety of primers, at what could be called "reasonable prices" less than $100.00 per 1000.

However, the horders are still trying to make thier money by buying up what they can and selling at nearly 1.5 to 2 times the price. This past weekend at a "local" gun show vendors had dropped the 2x, 3x the price on primers they were getting to 1.5 times the price at local gun shops. I did luck into some odern bcollector ammo for less than the price of shooting ammo.

There have been a few encouraging signs. I was in the city a couple of weeks ago, and saw about 20 bricks of Federal GM210 (Gold Medal Large Rifle Match) primers on the shelf. More interesting to me was that there was an empty space next to them with the SKU for Federal GM215M (Gold Medal Large Magnum Rifle Match) primers. I spoke with one of the salesmen who said that they had indeed received some of the latter (think he mentioned 10 bricks, or two cases) but that they had sold out in less than 48 hours. He had no idea when they would receive any more.

So either Federal is making a run of these, or perhaps there was an overrun from manufacture of loaded ammunition in some magnum caliber, and these trickled out as a result. Either way it's a positive sign.
