It's already coming around. Have you not paid attention to the last decade of garbage theatre against Trump. Bogus impeachments, weaponised legal system, completely fabricated disinformation schemes, MSM cover ups, I can go on.

This whole mindset of "we'll get you back" needs to stop. On both sides. But it won't stop, the divide just keeps growing wider and more hateful. I pray it will get better when Trump leaves office, but I fear there will just be a moving goalpost of hatred towards whoever is up next.
I agree and believe that it ultimately hurts the side taking the revenge.

I think that the democrat’s obsession with getting Trump during the Biden presidency contributed to Trump’s reelection for a number of reasons. First, it kept him in the spotlight. For nearly four years they kept him front and center in the public focus, for free! This incidentally also kept the spotlight off of any successes the Biden administration should have been focusing on.

Second, they went after him hard. I think that a lot of independent voters and conservatives who didn’t like Trump saw the never-ending lawfare as unnecessarily petty and over the top. It would generally be hard to paint Trump as a victim but the never ending legal retaliation made it a lot easier for Trump to do that. Then add general nastiness from the left over the assassination attempts. There was a lot of chatter in the press and in social media lamenting their failure or denying that it was real. Even if it wasn’t politicians doing it, it was a bad look.

I think there were a lot of factors that went into Trump winning reelection but I’m convinced that the left’s focus on taking personal vengeance on him ultimately backfired on them and was a major contributing factor.

This sort of uneducated nonsense is what is trumpeted by MAGA'a neo-isolationist wing. If they are successful, for even a short while, Europe and non Chinese Asia will rue the day - as eventually will this country.

I am cautiously optimistic Bari Weis is making a real difference at CBS news. The goal really does seem to be a meaningful effort to drag the network's reporting and editorial effort back to the center. It won't make the confirmation bias class on either side happy, but I believe there is a pretty large uncommitted middle that do not want to be constantly propagandized by left or right.

This would seem to be supported by the new Gallup poll that finds fully 45% of the population now identifies as independent and only 27% respectively as either democrat or republican. I am personally convinced this is due to broad disgust with both parties by "normal" Americans. Politicians who can tap into that will do well in November.

Just curious. Who gets to ignore a Congressional subpoena. The Biden DOJ put Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon in prison for refusing to testify. Is what the Clintons are doing any different?
There is a process to determine if a refusal to testify is legit or not. Congress, if they think they are really in breech, can bring contempt proceedings and test the issue.

Now I think about it there are two ways to deal with that issue. The Clintons could have asked a court to quash that supoena, or they can just advise they are not coming and see if further proceedings are coming.

Let's see what the majority now chooses to do.

I hope you’re right. It would be nice if people were moving towards the middle and away from extremism in the two parties.

OTOH, I’m also concerned that some of the movement away from the parties is from people who don’t think either party is extreme enough.

If congress brings contempt proceedings against the Clintons and actually holds them in contempt will they be punished as severely as Eric Holder was?

Exactly, if the US were to truly pull back from the global scene, the other super powers would only be too happy to fill the vacuum. (And I’m not counting the EU itself as a superpower any longer. It can only be considered a superpower if it continues to ally with the US)

I’d much rather have a Western democracy like the US be “imperialistic” and be a bulwark against the other superpowers, than any other.

Not to think even of the absolute detriment this would be to the future of the US itself in the long run.

That does not mean the US needs to or even would want to involve itself everywhere, but turning its back to anything outside of its borders is just childish thinking.

Totally correct. Swinging between "vast right wing conspiracy" and "vast left wing conspiracy" takes a country no where.

But right now the Trump DOJ is fundamentally incompetent, picking lawfare as a tactic is a mistake when your lawyers are just no damned good.

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.
