What I find particularly disingenuous about the decision to halt munitions deliveries to Ukraine is the level of ignorance it presupposes among members of congress, the press and the American people (at least those who have a modicum of understanding of warfare and our national interests). Using the Chinese threat as the reason is particularly unconvincing.

155 artillery munitions are critical in the Ukrainian defensive operations. It is the NATO standard artillery round and along with UAVs (drones) has been the single greatest killer on the battlefield. The exact size of our stockpile is classified but we literally have millions and our assembly lines are at full production with another about to come on line. What we have been providing and would continue to provide are our oldest stocks.

The same is true of the rockets fired from HIMARS.

I can come up with no scenario where we would be employing ground support artillery, cannon or rocket, against the Chinese in the Pacific theater of operations in any quantity - nor has any member of the administration.

I would concede that it is plausible that Patriot stocks may be somewhat depleted. In this instance we have been supporting two simultaneous conflicts, and Pacific basing obviously will benefit from the ballistic missile protection offered by Patriot batteries. It would interesting to know what the facts actually are about that stockpile.

Finally, it is pretty clear that the Army's internal analysis came to a very different conclusion than that offered by the major playing the role of SECDEF and Elbridge Colby.

Happy Fourth!

Good one but overplayed.

BTW, a while back we had a discussion about who came up with the phrase "Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies".

I actually think it was Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I doubt it would be much of a fight... MTG is a CrossFit monster... She competed professionally before Congress and even owns her own gym. Fighting ability comes part from physical strength, skill, and attitude all of which MTG seems to have in abundance... AOC wouldn't stand a chance unless she pulls out a switchblade...
Marjorie could probably take on the whole squad single handedly

Happy Fourth!

It’s good for young people to watch this and realize that their grandparents were way more cool then they will ever be. Life to me made more sense then.

A happy 4th to you. I know there are a few places outside the US that celebrate Independence Day, very much appreciated. When I was on a destroyer in the early 80s every 4th we would be in Cannes France for a few days as this was a celebration for US independence since France had a major role in the war. This is now called the Pyrotechnic display, fireworks still take place but the link to our joint celebration seems to no longer be in effect.

Godspeed!

Too bad the military In-Service training and the industrial complex that hires the purchasing agents doesn't include lessons involving Matthew Chap 7 vs 3-5.

WtF are you talking about? This is a diasaster that has killed people nad others trying to be saved!!!

I should have been more precise- what i was referring to was my observation of what a JAG would call a violation of UCMJ Section 888 Article 88. It had nothing to do with the disaster although someone's mother missed washing his keyboard out with soap.

Trump hints at NATO sending Patriot batteries and even troops into Ukraine. When asked about US troops. He said maybe, we will see.

The Troops hint is most likely meant to brush Putin back off the plate. To slow the attacks on Ukraine

Putin is intentionally trying to draw Trump into sending troops. The timing of the attack intentionally made Trump look ineffectual. He knows how Trump campaigned on ending the war quickly. A war is probably Putin’s best bet for staying in power. The US should just flood Ukraine with the weapons it needs and not become directly involved. This has a terrible feeling to it.

Actual NATO troops in strength, let's say a Corps of three divisions and supported by a couple of artillery brigades fully supported with air power would be far more powerful than what Russia currently has as an army. Putin would be forced to immediate negotiations or resorting to nuclear weapons. The latter would guarantee the destruction of Russia, its culture, and its future.

But that will not happen. It would take weeks, likely months, to assemble such a force in Europe even if a third to a half were European.

The Ukrainians are perfectly willing to fight. They have not asked for any NATO forces. All they have asked for is to be given the means.

Interesting video on stalin...i think it's around 6.40 where the part on Ukraine starts.....eye opening....

The Holomodor is why most Ukrainians initially welcomed the Wehrmacht as liberators in 1941 and most hate Russians passionately to this day. It is a historical event about which the average I despise Zelensky neo-isolationist has no clue.

It would also surely give Putin the chance to drape himself in the flag and extend the draft to the rest of the population. An attack on Russia/ Russian interests would be an attack on Putin, and vice versa. My real concern is that if Trump is baited into even the focused use of force like we saw with Iran, Putin has the excuse he needs. And I doubt he is not above defending his interests with nuclear weapons when he is losing.

Think French Revolution on steroids. Already, we have a large population unemployable in our tech based service economy. With no safety net you will have those with wealth, those in service of them, and a very large population with no means, and maybe even a desire to generate income.

It could turn into armed gated communities to protect haves from have nots without UBI or something similar. Why do you think leftists like Mamdani in NYC are getting votes? They are addressing this issue, wrongly, but addressing it and gaining traction with people desperate for food and shelter.
I heard that same reasoning from my former D, US representative 20+ years ago as he voted for every tax and spend bill in Congress. Of course, he lived in one of those gated communities.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
