Next decade? Perhaps it’s almost here now. Incite AI claims a 95% accuracy rate for its stock market predictions based on it’s advanced polymorphic algorithms that adapt to real time market conditions using a decade of historical data but the market is inherently volatile so no guarantees. AI continues to evolve much faster than the laws and regulations can keep with this unprecedented tech.

Agreed AI is already working in that space. But the machines are still only regurgitating the historical data entered by humans.

What I am concerned about is the next phase they will enter. In 5-10 yrs they will achieve ASI.
Artificial Super Intelligence. More intelligent than any human has ever been.

There will still be investments in growth. But rolling the dice and hoping for huge gains (speculation) may be a thing of the past.

I think Rookhawk is correct. In the near future ASI will miss irrational acts or panic from illogical humans.

House passes the big beautiful bill.

When discussing the Medicaid cuts with friends and relatives this holiday.

Remind the opposition that Biden allowed millions and millions of illegal aliens into the country. And when those illegal aliens go to an ER to have a baby. Gun shot wounds, drug OD, heart attacks. Guess what program pays for those millions of peoples health care. Medicaid offsets the hospital costs for people without insurance.

36 million people live below the poverty line. Yet 90 million are on Medicaid.

Now ad 20 million illegal aliens. And it’s unsustainable.

So moving forward , if you are able bodied. You must earn your health care like the rest of us. By volunteering or working 20 hours per week. Although most employers require far more than 20 hrs per week for healthcare.

It seems to me that whether your like or hate Mike Johnson, he has shown to be particularly skillful in herding cats.

Very true.
In the past he has given me that slick talking, tell you what you want to hear, kind of vibe.
But he's growing on me......just a little.

The problem is that there are millions of die-hard democrats who willingly believe such lies.
Democrats have been playing the Robin Hood card for decades to their ignorant constituents. Democrats are the biggest thieves in this country.

Well, the “B” in UBI stands for basic income. For those that have the drive to do more and prosper there should/would be other avenues.

However, I see the UBI coming, and it should come as otherwise we’ll have barbarians at the gates, literally.
I understand what the “B” means in “UBI”. I was angling my remark toward a moral or philosophical stance. When you say “there should/would be other avenues”, I view that as an ought statement. We ought to make pathways toward ambition. Well then you should make the specific prescription to accomplish that goal.

I’m confused what barbarians you are referring to in your reply. I would ask that you clarify that statement.

I can’t speak for Tanks but I interpreted it as him metaphorically speaking, a cultural change involving new technologies: a potentially very large group of people will become unemployable due to AI tech perhaps in the near future and not all of them will be able to find gainful employment which could lead to disastrous consequences, hence the need for a UBI. That was my take anyways.

Whatever his meaning, I am not as sure he was speaking metaphorically?

Think French Revolution on steroids. Already, we have a large population unemployable in our tech based service economy. With no safety net you will have those with wealth, those in service of them, and a very large population with no means, and maybe even a desire to generate income.

It could turn into armed gated communities to protect haves from have nots without UBI or something similar. Why do you think leftists like Mamdani in NYC are getting votes? They are addressing this issue, wrongly, but addressing it and gaining traction with people desperate for food and shelter.

Absolute BS and exaggeration. The sad thing for me is he may even believe it if no one with the facts is allowed to brief him. This nation has the ability to focus on more than one threatened region at a time - we have proven it for one hundred years. Aid to Ukraine is a miniscule drain on actual US combat capability as a whole and primarily employs weapons we will never use in any confrontation with China. We have no contingency plan for an invasion of and subsequent land war with China.

Biden allowed Jake Sullivan to run the Ukraine war for him - a man with zero experience in either diplomacy or the military. Results were about as one would expect. Hegseth and Trump seem to have vested Elbridge Colby with similar authority, at least with respect to what we might supply them. He seems myopically focused on China at the expense of our other critical national interests.

He even seems somewhat confused about that China focus. He is apparently behind the decision to delay or even cancel the Navy's 5th gen fighter program which was supposed to have been awarded in February to either Boeing or Northrop Grumman.

I am a big fan and love all the accomplishments Trump is racking up. He has made huge gains and is correcting disastrous policies of Biden/Onama. The Gaza and Russian aggression are the last of the big hurdles for his 1st 6 months.

But ! When Trump continues to barf up easily refuted statements. It undermines everything he says. It’s mind boggling that he either gets his information from the internet or knowingly spins BS. People around him don’t dare tell him; sir that isn’t true.

You will hear no argument from me. Thank you for clarifying,

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
