First, none of the last three Democrat Presidents served. Clinton actively evaded the draft and Lord only knows how Biden evaded. I know that Trump had a medical deferment.

Second, I guess you haven't listened to his speech. Even this Marine likes what he has said. Two of my sons were Soldiers and they both loved it. The planning for this started over 2 years ago and the money spent was from a past budget.

Third, after I retired from the Marine Corps, I have been a government civil service employee keeping Coast Guard aircraft flying and there are more government employees doing nothing than there are working. We could dump 40% of the government workers and there would be no impact but an increase in efficiency.

Clinton used up his college deferment as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford. His daddy didn't buy his ticket. He did it with his brains. When he returned to Arkansas to start law school he was offered a ROTC commission and initially accepted but then turned it down. Didn't like the stigma and decided instead to take his chances with the draft like all the other guys. He got lucky in the lottery as did Obama. According to Trump's sister, he had a heck of a time finding a college that would accept him so he could get a deferment. Finally daddy bought him into a school that offered a program in real estate management (there is such a degree??). He supposedly obtained a BA degree but has never provided proof that he ever passed a course. In fact, Trump has threatened to sue the university if they ever release his transcripts. Why would a guy who brags about his IQ of 167 not want anyone to see his sparkling scholastic records? Hmmm. While dad wrote the tuition cheques he hid out in college for four years. Then when available for the draft, one of daddy's podiatrist renters wrote a letter to the draft board claiming Trump had bone spurs ... even though he had been a member of his high school military academy basketball team. Trump has never provided proof of bone spurs or surgery to correct it. But he says he has proof. Prior to the temporary medical deferment expiring he got a good roll of the dice in the lottery. Then the bone spurs magically disappeared. Poof!

He supposedly has a university degree but didn't know he can't run for a third term. Any kid who graduated from the high schools I taught would know that ... or they wouldn't graduate! He doesn't have a clue how states are created. Guess he skipped HS US history too. He also thinks it's safe to drink disinfectant. Most 4th graders know skull and crossbones = poison. I'm okay with him being bonehead stupid and uneducated, but I did my time in the US Army when it was my turn. When that coward wraps himself in the flag, that's stepping over the line for me. At least weekend warrior George W knew how to keep his head down. No birthday parades for him.

A guest on WBAP radio was an Iranian naturalized to the US in the 1980's. His take on things--he was happy that Israel with US sanction attacked. He said that almost 90% of the country would join a revolt to oust the current regime if backed by the US! That Obama squandered the opportunity to help the youth of Iran during his terms and instead provided "cash on the tarmac" to keep the regime afloat (while also funding proxy wars unfortunately ).
Could it be that the best strategy is to aid an overthrow?

There sure is. It’s in reference to the internal help with intelligence and physical acts from Iranians within the Iranian borders for years.

Hopefully there is internal government destabilizing agents working as we speak.

Looking at the exploding Pager attack and the drone manufacturing inside Iran’s borders shows Israel has some critical Iranian help.

That of course not only allows Israel to conduct physical attacks. But it causes suspicion and doubt internally in Iran. It takes a lot of energy and resources to worry about who around you is an agent for Israel.

I was just going to point it out. I was born in 1956, and my draft status was 1H on my card. Obama is younger of course.

They haven't touched a fighter. That bit of typical Middle Eastern exaggeration and braggadocio was announced by the Iranians a couple of days ago and several Western stealth and manned fighter critics among defense correspondents and influencers ran with it (one ignorant "expert" titled his YouTube piece "the Day Stealth Died.") They all have gone rather silent on the subject.
