Correct. I should have been more clear. The market fell a little over 100 points yesterday . If the bill clears the house. The market will reflect that immediately. Making you some quick money.

Which side of the market are you playing? The short side? If so, possibly. Yields spiked yesterday on the prospect the bill would clear house. The outside, looking in, doesn't like the fact we're adding to our deficit. Moody's downgrade, likely sluggish T-bill auctions, and our paper being dumped are all factors in this.

The real question: Does SALT survive the senate?

I'll leave my opinion out of it.

Two Israeli embassy staffers shot dead in downtown Washington, lone suspect held

The victims, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, were locally employed staff, the Israeli foreign ministry said. They were both trying to promote reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians, separate advocacy groups each belonged to said.

Smith said the single suspect, identified as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez from Chicago, chanted "Free Palestine, Free Palestine", after being taken into custody by event security having entered the museum.

"Once in handcuffs, the suspect identified where he discarded the weapon, and that weapon has been recovered, and he implied that he committed the offense," she said, adding that he had had no previous contact with police.

He'll be chanting "Free Palestine" in prison for a couple lifetimes.

I may have been too Bullish. We shall see. The futures are saying they are excited about potential tax proposals. But the deficit spending may hold it back.

The CBO never factors in the growth and additional revenue from growth. So we shall see.

Hank, I am no guru. I take my leads from a cousin and nephew. But the vast majority is managed by fund professionals. I don’t manipulate those.

And Canadians do know how to deliver an ass whipping. When I moved to the states I was shocked at how few men had actually dropped the gloves and sorted things out. Growing up playing hockey in Canada, I didn’t know any guys who had not.

Back around 2008 I had a pair of Canadians that worked for me in Iraq... they were childhood friends, joined the Canadian army together, served in the PPCLI together, had done a combat tour together, etc.. they were very, very close friends... and now were doing security contractor work together..

They were funny as shit.. They'd argue like siblings over absolutely anything.. and ultimately end up going to blows over it.. they LOVED fighting.. and especially loved fighting each other lol..

I'd see them in the morning at breakfast.. one would have a cut over an eye, the other would have bruised ribs and couldn't sit up straight without hurting, etc.. but there they were, bullshitting over morning coffee, once again the best of friends, etc..etc..

a week or two later, after they healed up, they'd repeat the process lol..

God help the poor soul that ever tried to get between them, trying to break that up would just be inviting a beating from both sides.

The senate won’t want to keep SALT in but they are going to have to reach accommodation or it will fail when it goes back to the House.

The narrow margin in the house means the senate is going to have to accept more than they are used to. If they want to get it done that is.

It's interesting because the SALT states are CA, NY, NJ, CT, IL, etc. They all have Dem senators which are going to vote no, regardless. It will be interesting to see what happens if they think they are going to send the SALT $10k no income phase out back to the house. It will just fail, fail, and fail some more.

Without injecting too much opinion, $40k with an income phase out threshold is completely reasonable.

LOL depends on where you are from and who you were raised by, my paternal grandfather had two pairs of boxing gloves in his hall closet for when any of his 5 grandsons had disagreements.

Only two states recognize "Mutual Combat" Texas and Washington......

So much like dropping the gloves with a referee skating around you, in Texas and Washington you can literally sort things out while a police officer stands and watches.

Personally, I believe that many of societies problems could be solved if dueling were still legal; much like the mutual combat laws, I would just require a police officer to watch and then it would be flintlock pistols at 10 paces......

Trump's choice of words about the “genocide” of the white rural population in South Africa

our press is once again making a mockery of this.
Anyone of us who spends a lot of time in the countryside in RSA knows that this is true.
Perhaps the choice of words is exaggerated, as a German you have a different basis for measuring genocide, but Trump is absolutely right in this matter and he is the only one of the heads of state who dares to say this.
Thousands of white farmers and their families have been murdered since independence.
Politicians are not at all interested in clarification, they want to create a climate of fear so that the whites finally disappear, just like in Zimbabwe under Mugabe or in Tanzania under Nyrere.
The South African government has a right of first refusal on farms and of course pays next to nothing for them.
Moreover, you don't bring any money from RSA on a large scale.
So either stay and desperately hold out, or walk away with nothing and you're literally on the brink of an economic OUT.
I would have asked Ramaphosa why the ANC always sings the song “kill the Boers” by Julius Malema at the party congress(still, not only Malema's EFF)
If that's not a call to murder, I don't know.
It really is time to reproach the mainstream press for their indoctrination.

How many dock workers are going to be executed by the little North Korean leader for screwing up the launch of the new destroyer? Not a good day to be a dock worker! That is if there is ever a good day to be a worker in North Korea!

I watched a podcast type YouTube video today in which the guest asserted the folks in Alberta are truly pissed at their government and the succession movement is a real deal. I believe he cited 48% support and 52 against (from my depleted memory). He was optimistic as this is quite early in the discussion without truly a public debate on the issue. The host went on to say, many Albertans welcome being the 51st state.

My reason in bringing this up is that his opinions seemed to be quite contrary to the sentiments given by our Canadian forum members.

I have no information about the host or the guest. I'm curious as to our Canadian members thoughts.
I’d suggest you’re watching the wrong podcasts.

I live in Alberta and I don’t believe there is nearly that much support for separation, The real numbers seem to be in the low to mid 20% range.

Those who are separatist will likely destroy their own cause by looking for an early vote. A project like this is something that takes years of planning, with a well developed and thorough public relations strateg to build support in advance of a vote.

Many Albertans conflate separatism with MAGA, and that will hurt the movement in the near term. Promoters will have to “separate” (pun intended) their movement from MAGA if they hope to get any real traction. While there are some Albertans who support joining the US (and the media certainly seek them out), they are a very small number.

This is not to suggest that a majority of Albertans are happy with Canada at the moment. Most Albertans who are fed up with Canada, though, are just looking for a better deal from Confederation, not becoming an appendage to Montana. (Here’s a quiz: what is the population of the City of Calgary and how does it compare to the population of the State of Montana, which abuts Alberta to the south?)

Go too soon and you will fail, without a doubt.

All of them, and probably their families too.

Even if those numbers support separation, that's a massive problem.

I don't recall seeing anything posted about it on this thread yet, but i admittedly jump a few pages at a time when catching up....

Part of the Big Beautiful Deal is getting Suppressors off the NFA. They would be classified more like buying a long gun, from what I've heard about it so far.

Perhaps the Dakotas are similar to Canada? I grew up in the Black Hills and went to middle school and high school in Rapid City. Classmates were a mix of rich kids, poor kids, Air Force brats and American Indians. It was FAFO. A volatile mix. I got in a few fights but not as many as some people. I don’t think my two sons ever got in a single fight here in Colorado. Perhaps not as volatile of a mix, they were both big athletes and the schools here really address bullying. I dealt with several bullies but don’t remember schools addressing bullying ever. I was a basketball guard and teammates with some Indians so didn’t have trouble with them much.
