Hopefully Jerome Powell does not lower interest rates today. we do not need more money chasing fewer goods due to tariffs. Causing more inflation, which is very hard to get rid of.

Waiting till July or August is a better idea. by then the tax bill, tariffs, and the war in Ukraine should all be under control.

I'm sorry for being a smart ass, and I realize you are taking this issue seriously.

In all honesty, I don't know. It isnt an argument based in reality, so I can't logically make a conclusion. I know that other countries leaders seemed to praise Obama and Biden when he was elected (not so much at the end), and though they didn't outright say anti-american things they definitely made implied comments regarding Trump, even Trudeau in January 2017 (sorry I am on my phone so can't look it up). Even China saying they are willing to negotiate on tariffs, when directly interpreted an offensive statement. These were serious statements, and I don't care. 51st state is not a serious statement, if Canadians take it as serious, then I don't know what to tell you, other than turn off the TV and touch grass.

We can make a list of things Trump takes credit for that are not factual. I have never said that the 2020 election was interfered with, there is data points that dont make sense, I think there was a real case in PA that their constitution was not followed. I dont agree with the rulings on some of the lawsuits went but that it is what it is. You move on, a majority voters didn't feel the way I did. I made fun of Hillary supporters saying Russians interfered with the election by making Facebook posts.

I dont like Trumps personality, I don't like the way he is managing things, but he really has 2 years to shake things up and fix a lot of stuff that is broke. I agree with the overall goals.

There is a lot of countries, including Canada, who have done things in their best interest, which is what they should do. If America's taking the same approach offends or upsets you, I apologize on behalf of all Americans, and now I will go about living my life and hope we continue to implement a strategic vision that benefits my family.

Looks like Powell is going to hold off until at least June... I think that's a very smart move..

Trump isn't going to like it... but.. I think everyone that understands the role of The Fed and how it impacts both the US economy and the global economy will support Powells decision..

Seeing that it was insulting and having an effect on the election trump continued to drive the message thus influencing an election right up to and including the morning of the election proper. He’s then gone on to take credit for that interference publicly in a joint press event with him and carney. Why are some of you guys unwilling to call it what it is? You all piss and moan when ever there is a hint of election interference in the states yet Canadians are supposed to accept it without saying anything?

Influence maybe. Interference might be a bridge too far. Don't cry when someone talks you into something. Cry because you weren't strong enough to use your own judgement and free will.

The influence and interference we complain about generally comes from our own federal agencies peddling, withholding, not fully investigating or manipulating vital information that could turn an election, particulary while in collusion with our MSM. Not from a few ridiculous words from a foreign dignitary.

We do have politicians from other states who will add their two cents into local elections and while annoying, again, I would blame the voter for being influenced by such.

Sadly this has been a trend in US politics for quite some time now..

Obama likely would not have ever gotten into office.. but Romney was such a poor alternative that it opened the door for him..

Trump wouldn’t have gotten elected the first time… but Hillary was an absolute non starter for most of the country..

By the end of Trumps first term the D’s could have run bobo the chimp and won.. people were so tired of the antics any alternative was better…

And either a second term of Biden or a first term with Harris was such a bad option that even Trump could secure the office again..

Americans as a whole don’t vote for a candidate anymore.. they vote against the other side…

Hopefully we don't continue this trend and officially flush ourselves down the bowl by voting somebody like AOC into the presidency.

but six months really is not that long and not a good excuse. and I’m sure the Navy will see it the same way. If someone isn’t relieved while on deployment, they will be when they get home.

military officers are held to a much higher standard than our politicians and are held accountable.

The Truman's cruise is now in the 9th month, well beyond the normal 6 months. This same carrier already had their Captain fired/replaced for the collision incident in February.

Also, the USN Gettysburg, attached to the Truman battle group, had the friendly fire incident.

In his mind, I don't think he believes he has anything to learn from it.. he believes his strategies and tactics work.. and he doesn't care who he offends or pisses off or humiliates along the way..

It took more than 2 months for the US and Ukraine to try to figure out how to reconcile things after Trump had his blow up with Zelenskky.. Trump very clearly (and very intentionally) went out of his way to humiliate Zelenskky both during their now famed meeting and for the next several weeks after...

Now that things are resolved (somewhat) with the signing of the mineral deal between the US and Ukraine.. what did Trump do during his meeting with Carney?

He made fun of Zelenskky and the fact that he humiliated him in the same room that Carney was sitting in just a few months prior..

Trump got what he wanted once it was all said and done.. that's all that matters to him.. He wont lose any sleep at night knowing any world leader (Carney or anyone else) was humiliated or felt like they weren't treated properly.. if anything he'll keep doing it.. because its got a track record of positive results (look at how he's run his campaigns... Lyin Ted.. Little Marco.. etc.. two guys he went out of his way to belittle over and over again.. that are now among his strongest advocates.. Look at how he runs his businesses.. he has a 50 year history of publicly firing, publicly calling out, publicly attacking, etc executives within his own firms.. and publicly humiliating his business opponents.. Look how he ran his last cabinet.. how he dealt with Mattis and others.. he has ZERO problem with people hating him.. as long as he keeps getting the results he desires he will continue with the same tactics and strategies.. which is what amazes me.. his tactics and strategies haven't changed in decades upon decades.. you'd think the other side would figure this out and come up with a better solution.. but they don't.. everyone else (whether we're talking about domestic politics, international politics, business, or anything else) keep playing Trumps game, by Trumps rules..
