unite behind the party in power. I can’t believe that folks actually think what he is doing with our most faithful allies is anything but insane.

I honestly don't understand this position. Like I really hope you can explain it to me. I find it insane when any America blames a president or any politician for their problems. I find it beyond the pale that another countries citizens would blame a politician in another country for their problems...and then vote for the same stuff that got them in the position they are in.

If there is no real movement and real concessions from Moscow soon. Trump needs to completely walk away from Russia.

With Europes help, arm Ukraine fully. And let Ukraine finish the job. Longer range missile platforms ETC.

Or you just let Europe sort their own shit out!

Europe is not that much different than Africa. One tribe fights another, a new country is born with a new name.

Same citizens, same geography, just a new name and a new corrupt leader.

History repeating itself over and over, same as the Middle East. The two biggest kids in the sandbox fight each other for respect out of fear and for financial gain, while the kids that stand by and watch will toil under the corrupt leader.

I just returned from Nova Scotia. I was shocked at the level of anger toward our president and the current administration. It was so intense that at church the pastor prayed for the country in the face of the trade war they have been subjected to. The attitude is almost one of a country under attack. In the face of that, they have unified behind the party in power. A horrible decision, but there it is.

Trump has no idea the impact of his words and actions have on the international stage. He is doing lasting damage to our relationships with our long time allies. Those of you who think he can do no wrong may not care, but I can assure you that this will cost us in the long term.

When the president of another country questions the sovereignty and attacks the economy of a long time ally I believe some blame is rightfully attached to him.

I think my grasp is just fine. You're leaving out the promises of not expanding NATO which seems a key piece of starting the whole path to the invasion moving. We've covered this ground before.

I'm curious on you saying "your invasion" and "your word." Are you associating me with the Russians?
That's quite a bizarre accusation if that's what you're getting at.
There was no such promise. There was no such agreement. There was no such memorandum. I have quoted him about a dozen times since this interminable thread began and this Kremlin inspired falsehood has been repeated, but this is what Gorbachev, the fellow in charge of the significantly larger now extinct nation of which the Russian Federation was once a part, had to say on the issue.

“The topic of ‘NATO expansion’ was not discussed at all, and it wasn’t brought up in those years. … Another issue we brought up was discussed: making sure that NATO’s military structures would not advance and that additional armed forces would not be deployed on the territory of the then-GDR after German reunification. Baker’s statement was made in that context… Everything that could have been and needed to be done to solidify that political obligation was done. And fulfilled.”
“The agreement on a final settlement with Germany said that no new military structures would be created in the eastern part of the country; no additional troops would be deployed; no weapons of mass destruction would be placed there. It has been obeyed all these years.”

The only increase in military structure or deployment in Eastern Europe began as a response to Russia's unprovoked seizure of Crimea in 2014.

I know it isn't Tucker Carlson or Breitbart, but Brookings is considered a fairly authoritative source on such issues.

But what are you blaming him for?

If Trudeau and the liberals caused you guys problems to the point of where you have no confidence, blaming some loudmouth who literally and voting for same stuff is insane.

WAB, in no way is this an attack on you!
I respect your opinions and always enjoy your posts!

When in the F did people become so damned weak that when one person says something they allow it to consume them?

I'm an American of Irish descent, a Christian, from the South, in the construction business, I've had all kinds of shit talked about me, called all kinds of names, I don't give a damn! Sticks and stones, lighten up Francis, toughen up buttercup, grow a pair!

You can act like a man... Vito Corelone!

What are we blaming him for? How about giving the liberals a rallying point to shift focus away from Trudeau and costing the the conservatives a 5% lead in the polls. This election will be decided by voters who traditionally don’t vote and all they can see is a threat south of the boarder. I don’t know why that is so hard for you to wrap your head around prior to trump starting his utter foolishness the conservatives had the next election all but sewn up now thanks to him a short sighted an naive portion of the electorate that typically doesn’t vote and has no understanding of the real issues at play the liberals will win handedly.

A portion of the blame deservedly belongs to poilievre who’s been unable to tone down his brashness and combative nature which easily leads to comparisons to the boorish nature of trump. And credit were credit is due Carney has has skillfully portrayed himself as the steady hand on the wheel and the calming influence the political scene needs. He also timed the election so as to not have to disclose his finances and financial holdings.

But make no mistake about it a portion of the blame lies with trump and his inability to act with any amount of tact or political ability.

I don't think anyone on the international stage now pays the least attention to what Trump says any longer - which is no small indictment of a President of the United States. The issues are caused by what he is doing - and not doing.

I tried to convince my wife, but we were literally in Dartmouth for two days. I will be back next February and have a kitchen pass to grab a schooner or two with you.

February is perfect we’re hardly fishing at all then it’s too cold for lobster to move much. If it works out right might be able to squeeze in a rabbit hunt. I run hounds every chance i get that time of year.

That is what I can’t wrap my head around why does trump get a free pass to say what ever pops in his mind at the moment when all other politicians are held accountable for their statements?

Yes, it will reduce the profits of corporations - those corporations that trade in imports. But high import prices allow domestic manufacturing corporations to produce.
There is no such thing. Please point out one Fortune 500 company that does not participate in the global economy.

While not an exact indication of intelligence, travel outside one’s own continent can help one to more than “barely know much about anything outside their country.” So, I am curious, how many countries have you been to outside of Europe?

My count outside of North America and also not counting anywhere in South America and Central America is twenty-one without ever serving in the military. There are hordes of Americans that are way more well-traveled than I am, including several on this platform. Know your audience!
Well stated. For me personally I have been to 51 countries so far...52 later this year when I visit Cameroon for a safari. Generally I know more about the history and culture of the foreign country I am in then the folks I meet know about the USA and our culture.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
