Politics

Lexington and Concord. 250 Years ago today a nation is conceived, ultimately leading to a political forum on AH. We probably wouldn't be discussing and arguing today if not for these events. ;)

I find you thinking it's OK to attack our capital and you finding excuses why you think it's OK. The election was never stolen and no court cases ever proved it was stolen. You are so far up Trumps rear you will support him regardless of what he does even if he decides to go against SCOTUS. So what's wrong with you. I am done with discussion.
(1) That's because all court cases are dismissed for "standing." None of the case ever reached the merits.

(2) You have not responded to what due process that the "Maryland Man" did not receive.

Great post.

However... In some parallel universe, some here would still be discussing the merits of British fashion for men's vintage outdoor hats and boots.

Anybody ever look these guys in the eye and ask them if they're proud of the adults they've become? Ask them if this embarrassing waste of skin that they've become is what they wanted to be when they grew up? Going around harrassing people because they hurt someone's feelings. How pathetic.

I have never been happy with s lot of the pardons from any president - I am certain I could find issues but none stand out like the J6's do to me. I would have to research this.

Standing and latches. I think you get denied on Latches because no harm has yet occurred (no election), and afterwards, you are denied on standing because it's over.

The other deal is that if the state certifies the election then there is nothing a federal court can do about it. I think the deal in Penn, was that the executive changed the election laws letting stuff like Zuck interference (since admitted) in. This is fine but they never went to the legislature to have the changes approved as required under the constitution. Then when the irregularities were pointed out. The republican governor certified the election, and once that process has happened there is nothing that can be done about it. In essence in states that are republican strongholds but not Trump supporting, it was easy to mess with the outcomes.

Wiki which tends to be heavily curated by the left still has a page on stolen presidential elections. The preamble lists 1960, but that text has been removed. You can find it in the Wayback machine. But the point is that even Wiki knows the dems (and Reps) have stolen elections in the past, and states are free to do what they want. I just voted in the Canadian election, paper ballots, and so far we have never had a contested election, though I can imagine we some day might.

---------------------------------------------------------------

The Issue on Jan 6 isn't that it is right for a mob to overthrow the US through an insurrection, as if that is a real thing. It is other stuff:

- Sending elections back to the states is constitutional, Pence could have done it, an he could have declined it. Freedom of speech applies to legally influencing his decision;
-violence of protestors has been vastly exaggerated by media that will still claim law enforcement was killed
-Requested Capital Police presence denied
-Fed agitators all over the place
-It is the people's house and they were let in by security.
-Arrest were spread all over the country to people who weren't even there
-Prior recent history records you can bomb the place. If you are on the left, kinda OK.
-There should not be DC courts
-DC judges imposed sentences way out of proportion to normal guidelines
-Trump political opponents used all of the above to create a false narrative they are still running today, and therefore that does make on wonder how invested they were in creating the whole thing
-Jan 6 committee was a fraud.

It's the US, I don't care. Just history to me, though it does affect the desire of people to support the US defense if the government is a beep show.

Actually, one lawyer I respect has said you should probably throw out every case (just the routine business) in the southern district of NY, and there should not even be DC courts. The latter may yet happen.

In general federal courts are corrupt because they have an excessively high conviction rate. If courts convict in the high 90s of all cases that come before them, something stinks. Nobody is right all the time. Prosecutors are essentially immune from any fraud they may commit, even if the did it with something approaching criminal intent. There should be thousands more pardons than there are.

Jan 6 was basically political theater. The sentences were way out of line, if the dems had got in, the protestors would probably have been in jail for another 4 years. And this includes tons of people who weren't there. They would spend more time in jail than some of the leftists who detonated bombs in congress in the 80s.

The Insurrection Act, under which the over-prosecutions were made, was designed for southern politicians who were responsible for the war, and to deny them access to political office. And even in that case, relatively quickly enforcement was relented. It was not designed to incarcerate political opponents at the bidding a of corrupt court. There was no insurrection, and it certainly was nothing in comparison to the Civil War.

I think I’m gonna build an app. Similar to the dating apps

to match up illegal gang members and crazy leftists. They can take them into their homes. Hang out together. Let their wives and daughters take leisurely strolls on jogging paths together.

I wouldn't go along with that, it sounds to close to the actual immigration policy in the US over recent years.

He should not have been put in jail - I do not necessarily have a problem with the deportion of illegal imigrants. But he should not be in jail if he has not been convicted of a crime. If he was found guilty of a crime its time to forget his name.

Yes he was put in prison by Trump under his orders, to say he was not is too ignore the agreement our country made with El Salvador.

Then prove it in a court of law. If they have such sound facts it would be rather easy to do and then very few could complain including myself. I dont want criminals here in teh states but simply accusing someone should not be sufficent to put them in prison.

It was proven in a court of law. He was convicted of being in America illegally in 2019 by the Immigration Court. He was also found to be a member of MS13 by the court. He could have self deported at anytime to any country that would have him. He chose to remain in the country till he was arrested. Upon continuing to break the law by remaining in country, all bets are off when captured.

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t it posted earlier he has ms-13 tattoos? I can’t see him surviving more than a day in an El Salvadorian prison if he had gang tats and wasn’t a member.

It is my understanding that is taken into consideration in El Salvador prisons that are segregated by gangs. Supposedly his concern was the Barrio 18 gang when he got the order not to send to El Salvador. With the new President, it seems most gang members in El Salvador are now in prison.

I think they were once upon a time, and the gangs ran the prisons. Before the new El Salvadoran president, the gangs did their own policing, had TVs, Cell phones and even prostitutes in the jail. Essentially the gangs were contained but not exactly a prison.

But if you read about CECOT, it is the definition of no fucking around. They get 1/2 hour of exercise a week, they get the same food every day, there is no utensils, the ceilings are wire that will not support someone being able to hang themselves, there are 3 layers of guards (one prison, one police, one army). The outside is surrounded by gravel to make sure anyone that approaches can be heard. There are no visitors, there is no education program, there is no communication to the outside world. I believe each cell is given a Bible.

Wonder if any truth to this.....not great if there is....closing embassies......I know they spent a shit load on new embassies here..Harare..Namibia.. and I think just now in DRC.....but :E Shrug:

The point I was making was that if he were not a member of ms-13 and was housed with them he’d be dead already. How long do you figure a “poser” would survive in prison with hells angel tattoos he hasn’t earned for example.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
