I have an old H&H .500ex I want rebarreled with all engraving, regulating etc. The finest gunsmith in Ferlach, Austria wanted €12000. H&H wanted almost 3x that much. The gunsmiths in London don’t make more than gunsmith in Ferlach. As I understand HH have gone bust a few times. Wonder why?…..

An H&H rebarrel of an express is nearly worthless. A Ferlach is 1/3rd of worthless. I don’t think you can ascribe a tariff or exchange rate as root cause of your malady.

When you take an undesirable and common caliber and attempt to restore it, you don’t multiply its worth. Put another way, the price you pay H&H or Ferlach to restore the finest gun ever made or the worst ever made is the same. The fact yours isn’t the best isn’t indicative of the global economy.

No, I didn't--my eyesight is not what it was and my glasses were on the table where I had been doing taxes. Sorry all around. I just thought the street and buildings looked mostly unruffled, not at all like a bomb blast site. Don't know how I could have made such a cursory viewing, and I spent more time typing bad humor than viewing with discernment. To my shame, I see it with glasses now.

Here's a case that isn't being talked about much on MSM of course because it's opposite of what they like. So this little thug stabbed a kid in the heart at a track meet when told to leave the tent of the opposing school, because we all know we too carried knives in our packs at our HS sporting events, and was of course charged with murder. He also asked the arresting officers if they thought what he did was self defense. His bond was initially set at 1 million but was just lowered to $250k by a black female judge. He has a go fund me set up that has raised almost $500k and is now out of jail.

Pretty astonishing story all the way around.

We were just in London the past couple weeks. The Palestinian marches/protests were going on every other day and twice on Sundays. Very organized and always the same woman's voice on the loudspeaker.

What I found fascinating was that as they made their way past Trafalgar Square, everyone turned their backs and refused to look at them
