I suspect they will withstand challenges. Any attempt to revoke them will be aggressively appealed, and it is unlikely that any court through SCOTUS will be eager to dilute in any form the President's absolute right to issue pardons and commutations.

Generally I'd agree, but the autopen being used so broadly on all these pardons and Biden not being present when it was used, supposedly, is what the legal talking heads were saying won't hold up if this gets taken to the SCOTUS, which is where it would end up. Interesting to observe...

The birth rate started declining well before this generation. I’m 50 and a large percentage of my friends have chosen not to have children—at least when compared to previous generations. Financial and career were definitely a significant part of their decisions.

I also think your blanket statements of what men vs women desire aren’t completely on point. I certainly don’t want what you described from my spouse.

I've heard of multiple polls done where women are asked what they want in life. Careers and independence aren't at the top of the list when the majority of women answer honestly. Pressure from feminism, colleges, giant corporations, Hollywood, gov't, influencers, has convinced women or their parents that they need to go into a STEM field or high pressure office environments to assert their dominance and be tough. A couple decades chasing that before a momemt of clarity can lead to the spinster, IVF category I mentioned.

The abortion era hasn't helped either. "Don't have that baby, be responsible and take accountability for your actions. Abort the baby, get a career and be all about yourself instead."

If you're going to the "Fighting the Oligarchy" rally or whatever they're calling it, remember to wear a mask.

The problem is the follow up article. Her eggs were mostly defective, the last one didn't take. Her family tree is now a genetic dead-end. She feels like she was robbed and cheated, but she was telling women "they can have it all"....but they can't. Statistically, she will die alone because men generally marry to have a family, otherwise they are simply marrying without the benefits of future progeny, yet still with the 50% chance they give away half their stuff in a divorce. The risk-reward just isn't there for many men if kids aren't part of the picture.

This post goes back to illegal immigration, it is also totally anecdotal.

On the second Friday of the month my wife and I volunteer at a food pantry. Since the election the numbers of foreign speakers have greatly reduced. When we first started in 2022 the numbers were roughly 80% Spanish speakers, 5% other foreign languages mainly French so I’m assuming from Haiti the remaining 15% definitely American. This past Friday night only about 5% of the food recipients were foreign language speakers and the rest were Americans, the total number of families/recipients was way down as well. These aren’t hard numbers but just what the wife and I came up with off the top of our heads on the way home Friday.

The point is that the illegals seem to be self deporting (or are too scared to come out to that public of a place) with the threats of local ICE raids and deportation. But as I said this is totally anecdotal.

Women falling victim to women. A tale as old as at least the last few decades.

Women used to be happy with a later in life part time job to get out of the house and help contribute a bit of money to the family. My grandma did some part time stuff at the school cafeteria when her kids were school age for example. Most women would be happy with that.

across the board, D's appear to be at the lowest approval point in more than 30 years according to two different polls conducted by CNN and NBC

What I find most interesting is.. these polls were conducted BEFORE Schumer pushed to have the CR passed (working with R's to make that happen).. and that both before and after this occurred you still see the overwhelming majority of D leaders doubling down on all of the things that got them where they are in the first place (extreme left agendas, theatrics rather than substance, refusal to work with the other side or attempt to meet in the middle, etc etc)..

Youd think there would be at least a few smart D strategists walking the halls of the nations capital that understood how they got to where they are, the path they are currently on, and how its not helping.. that would be advocating a different approach..

As much as people are getting bent out of shape over some of the Trump administration's actions and are pointing to the mid terms claiming that all of this ends in less than 2 years because voters are going to be frustrated, D's will take back the house and/or the senate, etc..

I have to wonder if that "red wave" that everyone talked about in 2022 doesn't happen in November of 2026..

If the D's cant figure out to get the American people to see their party in a favorable light, the only D's left on the hill are going to be the ones from the most extreme left districts.. which frankly wont be enough to matter...

When NBC is telling us that only 27% of Americans see the D party favorably (and only 7% very favorably).. and CNN says 29% of Americans see the D party favorably.. and that 52% of D's say their party is taking the wrong approach to achieve its goals and objectives.. that should speak very loudly to their leadership..

This should also speak very loudly to the rest of the worlds leaders.. I wouldn't be placing any heavy bets on things "changing" as soon as the end of 2026.. it would appear there is a pretty strong chance that not only will things remain the same after the mid terms.. but that the current administration might be further emboldened..

It will be interesting to see if in coming weeks we see more Ilhan Omar, AOC, Pelosi, etc.. rantings and ravings.. or more from the more reserved and moderate D's...

Newsome is so desperate that he started a podcast to try to endear himself to conservatives. Of course no conservative should go on his show unless it's to call him out on all of his douchebaggery and then leave.

Omar recently called Americans stupid and the freedom of speech ridiculous.

Yet the gym shorts wearing, brain damaged Pennsylvanian has had the best takes for at least the last 12 months.

Good grief, I get on the tractor for a few hours and when I come back the politics thread has devolved into an e-dating thread??? Seriously??? You guys are scaring me!!!

@Brent in Az I have a mission for you. Penetrate the "fighting the oligarchy" rally and make a general nuisance of yourself trolling the libtards. Record it for our amusement of course.

Nah. That's 100+ miles north of me. Besides, dealing with those mouthy purple haired troglodyte women, and beta boys, I would end up losing my temper, shed my human form, and end up behind bars for brawling.

I think it would be immensely entertaining.

Or you could not get emotional and post a ridiculous, offensive comment and realize that I told you to research your original post for a reason.

Those 215 bodies could simply be a septic drain field. There has been $7 million allocated for the exhumation of these supposed victims yet not a dollar spent or shovel of dirt removed.

Then you post the same thing where nobody has removed a single body.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But I definitely won't put faith into such an accusation in the face of zero evidence.

"Probably the most important thing we now know about Kamloops is that 2,000 linear feet of trenches about 3 feet deep lined with clay tiles and running east-west were dug in 1924 as a septic field to dispose of the school’s sewage. Ground penetrating radar (GPR) cannot distinguish between a trench lined with clay tiles and a putative child’s grave. The GPR profile is very similar.

Unfortunately Dr. Sarah Beaulieu, Assistant Professor of Social, Cultural & Media Studies at the University of the Fraser Valley, didn’t know about the 1924 septic field when she did her GPR work at the former residential school as she hadn’t done the necessary archival research beforehand. She thus mistook the old septic field trenches for shallow children’s graves, and the fact that they ran east-west for proof that they were Christian burials.

Nor did Dr. Beaulieu know that from 1991 to 2005 Dr. George Nicholas developed and directed Simon Fraser University's Indigenous Archaeology Program on the Kamloops Indian Reserve in conjunction with the Kamloops Band. As a result, after initially claiming to the Kamloops Band in late May that she had found 215 children’s graves, Dr. Beaulieu had to revise that number down to 200 in her public presentation on July 15 because some of her GPR “hits” were actually the shovel test pits which had been dug by Dr. Nicholas during his archaeological work near the former residential school.

It also appears Dr. Beaulieu did not know that the Kamloops Band has a large and very old community cemetery on the other side of the Reserve at the historic St Joseph’s Church. There would thus never have been a cemetery at the residential school. Band members are still buried in that old cemetery at St Joseph’s Church to this day.

Dr. Beaulieu apparently also did not know that the alleged juvenile tooth which Dr. Nicholas found during his earlier archaeological work had turned out, on analysis, to be non-human, or that the alleged juvenile rib bone ostensibly picked up by a tourist on the site years earlier had never been analyzed, and had apparently disappeared. At her 15 July 2021 presentation, Dr. Beaulieu mentioned the juvenile tooth and rib bone as proof that she had found children’s graves, and unfortunately she has never publicly retracted that error."
Ok sir you have fully convinced me with your documentation that those 215 were a leach field - Point taken.

Now what about the others?

And as I’ve said in other posts I’ve had natives in Canada tell me all sorts of false narratives when I asked how traditional it was to chase seals with outboards and 12ga buckshot.

However only time will tell with the others, and with 15years of excavation experience, I can tell you there is only one way to make certain where an unmarked grave yard is.

My real disdain is my neighbors to the north bringing up American Indians treatment whenever American immigration or “Assimilation” as if the British & French both didn’t do the same or worse and the abuse at those Canadian schools was documented up until they were shut down in the 90’s.

“Are the stories I’ve heard about the Native school abuse true?”

I made the mistake of asking a native fishing guide that once while alone with him in a boat, being an honest an openly proud native man of few words I was expecting the short joking answers he normally gave….. I wasn’t ready for the graphic history of abuse that he suffered both from male and female staff alike for years on end; that was 2016 and he was in his late 40’s. He said that the scary part was that many of those people were still certified.

So yeah I do take offense to former British Colonies painting the USA as the land of Genocide; much of the conflict in the USA post civil war came about because of tribes who’s raiding culture conflicted with settlements and the government retaliated with the army, except in Texas where the Texas Rangers were formed for lack of a standing army.

Truth is, most of the American Indians died from disease and likewise new sexual diseases appeared with returning explorers.

As for war, the conflicts of the raiding tribes can best be summed up as Stone Age meets steel; which wasn’t a bad thing for tribes that didn’t base their existence on raiding other tribes and torturing captives to death for public entertainment.

Some did quite well, like the Choctaw that joined Andrew Jackson in fighting the British and their Scottish highlanders in the battle New Orleans.

Yet Historians paint Jackson as a cold blooded Indian killer…. No Jackson had enough of the raiding and war parties and he would not have been successful in his campaigns against Native American raiding tribes if he hadn’t had Native Americans of peaceful tribes fighting and scouting.

And if you look around the USA you usually see the more peaceful and businesslike and trade friendly before European arrival the tribe was the better they are doing now.

The Choctaw of Oklahoma fought the Comanche for centuries Which came in handy…. But they were also wealthy from farming as they had considerable African slave holdings as they would buy slaves but not take them; likewise Choctaw women could own slaves and free them then marry them.

The only conflict the Osage had was when cattlemen would take cattle across their land on drives and not pay the toll; for those that paid the toll their stray cattle would be collected after leaving and depending on prior arrangement would be taken as trade for future tolls or sold to the next cattle drive with a reciprocal agreement.

And today because they kept their land holdings and mineral rights their one of the wealthiest tribes on the continent.

So again spare me the USA Indian saga cries from former British colonies whenever someone brings up immigration and or assimilation in the USA because the biggest complaints I hear from the average Canadian is about how Sikhs are buying up all the businesses and the Chinese are dumping money into houses so the market is completely unaffordable.

Only they use different language than Sikh & Chinese to describe who they are talking about….

I think it would be immensely entertaining.

It would be for about a minute!
I don’t deal with stupid very well anymore and would probably blow a gasket! Listening to them and their supporters would set me back 30 years!

Hey I didn’t bring up e-dating I just related my experience with it to a forum member that suggested it….

Besides, I’m saying it’s more of a take on modern women and cause of declining births.

AOC & Bernie have arrived here in Colorado for an event. These two do not qualify as "smart D strategists". My wager is they will produce several meme worthy quotes.
If I had stage four cancer, a hunt might be in order.
