I think he’s just proving he can flip the switch any time he likes… another means for forcing Zelenskkys hand… if Ukraine doesn’t capitulate quickly he’ll flip the switch back the other direction fairly soon..

Could be both, depends on a countless number of variables. If there is evidence he facilitated the activities that lead of crimes being committed against jewish students at Columbia, there are a number of federal crimes that could be associated. I haven't seen the arrest documents or any charging statements, so I don't know on that front.

I don’t compare to you, and I mean that genuinely, but I do own businesses on my own. They are small, but I have 20 full-time employees and a handful of contractors. I was also an executive at a fortune 10 company, where I managed healthcare contracts generating billions annually. These contracts routinely had multiple negotiated amendments per year.

I do know a bit about this subject, but in this case, that doesn’t matter at all. Ukraine isn’t at the table. Back to my point—you generally have a very good ballpark idea of where things will shake out in the end. Two elements of that are going to be Russia keeps some of the ground they have taken thus far and Zelenskyy won't be allowed to maintain power.

Chances are the burning you saw in Africa was done in the cool season, to reduce the build up of fire hazards and catastrophic fires in the dry season. This results in less CO2 being released overall. It's measurable. The same thing is done here in the Northern Territory. Undertaking managed, cool season hazard reduction fires results in carbon credits which are tradable. The land is rejuvenated. The buffalo love it.

We're familiar with hot season, catastrophic fires and the CO2 they release. To be avoided. Due to climate change, they're happening in cool seasons in some places. Perhaps somewhere near you?

There is a great deal of difference between trusting science, and trusting the scientific community. The former is simply fact, the physical laws of the universe, some known, some yet to be discovered. The latter are the human beings investigating those laws, who in large part have deviated from the discipline of their profession in the investigation of climate change, the topic that got this discussion started.

I for one, do not trust the scientific community as regards the investigation between the link of human activity and climate change. In my opinion they have largely compromised their scientific integrity in this area.

Distrust of the scientific community can reflect the level of dislike for what it is that's being reported. That's understandable, but it does vary with the makeup of the audience.

With the general public, the solution for scientists is to stay true to the scientific process and allow people to convince themselves when they are ready. The time it takes and the level of uptake varies.

Contrast this with what I saw while working as a military scientist for decades. My colleagues and I reported our findings to senior military officers, being men and women who had been carefully screened for each promotion by their seniors based on never ending scrutiny and review of their personal qualities and intelligence. These were seriously competent people. Not once in 35 years did I see a senior military officer reject scientific advice.

Exactly. They're not wildfires. Good. These controlled burns do what we've both described; reduce wildfire hazards in a low intensity burn and stimulate new growth. New growth that quickly captures about the same amount of carbon that was released. It's circular.

I know you know what I'm about to say. Burning oil, coal, gas releases carbon that took gazillions of years to capture, ages ago. It's so easy to see that burning this stuff is not circular. It must have an effect upon the sealed environment we live in. It is. We can see it.

I haven't done due diligence research on climate change. That being said I have been professionally involved with pollution monitoring for decades. If one were to do a Venn diagram of proposed "climate change" prevention methodologies and anti-pollution methodologies, there is tremendous overlap.

Because something is being proposed as a "green" solution does not invalidate it if it also prevents pollution. Unless it has the word "gay" in it of course.

The smog differs by the day according to weather and temperature inversions. Don’t take too much stock in a snapshot. Yes, the rest of the world needs to catch up before we get more restrictive here. Good luck with that.
