Anything beyond the 2022 borders and no NATO membership is well and truly “fuc$ed. Particularly since they are willing to fight on given the means rather than an ultimatum from the Whitehouse. And that Trump’s lackeys can’t say Putin is the aggressor is humiliating.
Well we may have different definitions of “well and truly f**cked”.. Seems like we were pretty sticking to the pre-2022 border? I’ve only heard them say that pre-2014 border is unrealistic (which it is).. Seems like it’ll end with some concessions and some sort of security guarantee. Just how long would you like for it to go on? Seems like the Russian military is already degraded? Ukraine can’t win or fend off further incursions without heavy support? I don’t disagree with your last sentence.

Respectfully Tundra, I think your beef lies with Obama Hilary and Biden Blinken. Not the mop up team.

I do not disagree with the blame being shared by those individuals. It does not excuse what appears to me as some level of impotence by the current administration.

I am interested in what strategy for ending the Ukraine/Russia War would satisfy the group of folks here that are unhappy with the current perceived trajectory? Maybe I missed it, all I seem to read is how badly Biden and now Trump is handling it.

Absolutely. Am a little surprised that your note received a down vote. I had not realized we had a Socialist Green reading our politics forum. I hope he adds some content to our discussion. I am sure it would elicit interesting comment. :E Angel: If remember correctly, Mopani is a German South African?
I am neither Left nor Green, rather the opposite of that. Ukraine is part of Europe, not very far from Germany. In Ukraine, people fight and die who not only defend their country, but also other European countries. It is only right that these countries support Ukraine militarily and financially! Only an idiot would consider this support as a loan. Of course, Ukraine does not have to pay back any of this.

When I read stuff like this, it feels like we're just another form of bully. It feels like we are, to a degree, complicit with Russia. That was embarrassing to read.

What would satisfy me as a starter Ukraine sitting at the table as an equal and Russia being called the aggressor.
What's happening now is a travesty.

NATO putting troops on the ground the day after Russia invaded and driving the Russians out of the region. @Redleg will have a better idea of timeline but it seams to reason if the Ukrainians were able to hold out against the Russians than nato should of handily beaten them back and proven to Putin that any action taken agains the west or our allies would be dealt with swiftly. Instead of that Biden took a nap Trudeau gave away every piece of military hardware we had that wasn’t nailed down away and now trumps running a protection racket scam trying to make deals with both sides for mineral rights. You all did say he come up in New York didn’t you ? The five families would be proud.

Well if part of the settlement will be Donbas and Crimea officially becoming Russian then it doesn’t make much sense for a resolution demanding full withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory to remain in effect.

Can’t exactly go back in time can we? He was asking what approach would be acceptable currently… Wild suggestion for NATO to do that right off the bat as well. Should have just been ramped up support

Of course we all know if it weren’t for the incredible weakness of the Biden administration on the world stage the invasion never would’ve happened in the first place

I don’t think the u.s. shoulders all of that blame most of the nato nations had liberal governments at the time.

Unfortunately the unspoken truth is Putin is far from being a rare Sociopath. Most successful people have a little bit of that trait. It’s an overused and misunderstood “diagnosis”.

And for Putin to rise from the KJB and on to run Russia of course he has those tendencies. He wouldn’t last a day without those tendencies.

Many politicians, CEOs, athletes etc must have a sliver of sociopath and Psychopath to succeed or excel.

There is an old saying. Paraphrasing. No one would know who Mahatma Gandhi was if he lived under Stalin. Instead of Great Britain

I don’t agree with this article 100%. He comes off as the majority that claim this condition is more rare and is always a defect. Many say that a certain level is helpful in some endeavors. And you may need one to make cold hard decisions. IE Who is given food if there isn’t enough to go around.

I recommend that you read ‘Good to Great’ by Jim Collins. He took a very different approach to evaluating success in leadership. He identified companies which had sustainably made the transition from good to great and then analyzed commonalities in their leadership. His findings were the exact opposite of what you might expect. The leaders who lead their companies to greatness did not exhibit sociopathic tendencies. They were the exact opposite. Anyway, it’s a great read if you get a chance.

We are the world leader. The fact that most of the nato nations had liberal leadership I’m sure did nothing but encourage Putin. That said if the US would’ve had a strong leader I doubt he would have invaded.

Please don’t think I am suggesting those are good leadership traits.

Oh, Foxy, be lenient - I learned English 40 years ago from a BBC textbook, and I don't understand much about the American version, so if the Americans capture me and interrogate me, I will die a hero, but not because I am so persistent, but simply won't understand the questions.. There will still be small chances with the British.
I was just trying to translate for you what your president said, and what even his supporters didn't really understand. I am not saying at all that Russia won the First World War (although in three years it inflicted more than 50% of military losses on the Central Powers, and it suffered the main losses itself). I'm just assuming that Trump doesn't see any prospects for a military victory, and wants to get out of the situation with some profit.

I’d be pretty good unless the interrogators were from Louisiana then I’m done for.

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
