I selfishly would not like to see the USPS shutter as we use it a lot here in our rural area. The other choices are far worse. They waste a lot of money here. I would support curtailing its subsidization and make it support itself as intended. It should be able to be done with proper management and some cuts.

I doubt they much care what I think though. Haha.

FedX actually does have a HUGE security department that includes investigative units among other things… the chief security officer for FedX has historically been a retired FBI SES, and the chief of each of its various security units are typically retired senior law enforcement administrators (deputy chiefs, etc) from the Memphis metro area…

Many of its various “security” units are comprised of either retired law enforcement officers or currently serving reserve law enforcement officers that have the authority to work under the “color of the badge” and retain law enforcement privilege and jurisdiction while working at FedX…

One of their investigative units in particular is truly a best of class organization… I’d put the quality of their work and their capabilities up against the Postal Inspectors Service any day (many of them are former postal inspectors)…

A good friend of mine was head of the FedEx counter-terrorism unit in their office of General Counsel. He was mainly a liaison between the company and federal agencies, he came to that role from DOJ counter-terrorism.

Our entitlements are where the majority of cost and with that the majority of the fraud to the tax payer.

The lion share of Medicare and Medicaid fraud is not from some lazy guy in a trailer park.

It is an open secret that the bulk of the fraud is primarily our chief enemies. Russia, China, Al Qaeda, and on down the list. We are actually helping to fund our enemies with our entitlements.

The D’s continue to double down on what lost the last election.. they just made David Hogg the vice chair of the DNC… that tells you everything you need to know…

Nine years ago Tulsi Gabbard was the vice chair of the DNC. Now it is David Hogg. This is just one obvious reason they are loosing those in the nation who are centrists.

I'm sure that's true my wife's Medicare statement showed that they were billed for 300 Caths. One problem is the guy in the trailer park would never complain. I look at Medicaid as something that some companies hire a bunch of part time or low paid workers and us taxpayers pay their health benefits. I live near some small towns and they're always wanting to work for cash. Walmart is a good example of a company moving into a smaller town paying wages low enough so the taxpayers can pay their benefits. It quite a scam. I read an article in the Council Grove paper that the younger needed mental health as they wasn't enough jobs. Looks to me maybe they ought to move where they can find a job.

The very best firearms forums, of every flavor, don't condone political sabotage on any level...for good reason.
Many (most of us) join to escape the incessant drumbeat of asinine partisan political commentary that pervades every aspect of our lives.
Respectfully, give it a rest...pretty please.

Um, just a thought... don't click on the politics thread? :E Shrug:

My fathers Medicare was billed $8K in incontinence supplies. He is neither incontinent or receiving said supplies. He contacted them, sat on hold for :30 minutes and reported the fraud. Another month, another charge for $5K in incontinence supplies. Called and reported fraud again. Was chastised for calling as it had already been reported.

This is one person mind you. I suspect the real cost is incalcuable.

I am disappointed. I am watching Meet the Press while eating breakfast. Markwayne Mullin, when asked if Russia started the war, began backpedaling and trying to justify what Trump said. When he was quoted as having unequivocally stated, at the time the war started, that Russia was to blame and it was unprovoked, he tried to sidestep what he previously said.

Again, very disappointing. I know some on here think very highly of him. I'd like to have seen him have the stones to stand behind his previous words.

I know our local state senator fairly well. A a center/left Democrat. Of course a different league than US. He once told me that a politician has a certain amount of political capital and they have to be careful when and where they use it.

I’m the kind of person that can accept the truth. Say you screwed up. It’s ok to do that. Way more respect for that than as they say “clinging to a mistake just because it took so long to make.”

Refusal to acknowledge Putin is a dictator and Russia started the war - Shannon Bream asked him directly and he deflected time and again - just makes it look like he doesn't have a nutsack, IMO. He says Trump is coming from a position of strength. Boy, it just doesn't seem like that to me. Putin gets what he wants - reports are that Russia is going to declare victory tomorrow, Trump gets to claim a hollow victory "peace deal", and Ukraine gets f**ked. Trump should feel embarrassed; I know I do. Hopefully Putin used a bit of KY on the Donald.

OK... mini-rant over.

Red Leg,
I have my doubts as to whether Europe regards the war supplies for Ukraine as a loan.
That would not be typical of our German government(s), we usually give everything away “for a good cause”.
Especially our Green Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, who can't throw enough money around.
The public in this country doesn't hear a word about it either: Loan or gift, not a word.
In terms of mood, everything looks like a gift here too.
Tonight (it's election here) the Greens and the Reds (in Germany/ Europe the Left is red) will hopefully be history.
America - keeping your fingers crossed for us.

Foxi.

Foxi,

With the election results I am seeing, it looks like CDU will be forming a government. With the CDU being center right and the AFD seeming to grow at the expense of the CDU, do you feel there is pressure within the CDU in a future election (obviously not this one) to form a coalition with AFD. Or is the AFD just considered too toxic for any party to want a coalition with them ever.

Russia will get to keep Donbas and Crimea I’m sure. Given Putin wanted all of Ukraine I’d say that no, he is in fact not getting everything he wanted.. All the handwringing really is quite tiresome. It’s like it’s CNN over here.. Let’s see how it works out. I seriously doubt that Ukraine is going to get well and truly “f**ked”.

I’m confident that Volodymyr Zelenskyy will let us all know if he is satisfied or not with the initial proposal that Marco Rubio asks him to agree to for a cease fire. They are very close already.

You will no longer hear anything negative from Zelenskyy until the deal is made.

I would argue they already have been, and it doesn't seem like it's going to stop.

Maybe… but… maybe not…

We’re already seeing several red states implementing a state level DOGE…

Most of Trumps base is not just on board with what’s going on, they are ecstatic about it…

Centrists are showing some concern… but most appear to still be incredibly grateful we’re not dealing with the first 30 days of Kamala…

The D’s continue to double down on what lost the last election.. they just made David Hogg the vice chair of the DNC… that tells you everything you need to know…

D contributions are down… many polls and studies are showing youth becoming more right leaning than they have been in generations…

The mid terms won’t just be about Trump satisfaction.. they will also be about D dissatisfaction..

If the D’s can’t get their shit in order over the next 12 months, the mid terms won’t go well for them..

Right now they appear to be far from getting their shit together…
I hear you however the effects will not be immediate but will be seen down the road in the next 6 to12 months.

As it is Trump's rating are going down and if they stay down there'll be resentment, no doubt.

I watched the same thing and I'm disgusted!
Hegseth is a nobody, he's just a puppet of Trump.
He knows the moment he says something controversial he'll be fired like the others before him.

Anything beyond the 2022 borders and no NATO membership is well and truly “fuc$ed. Particularly since they are willing to fight on given the means rather than an ultimatum from the Whitehouse. And that Trump’s lackeys can’t say Putin is the aggressor is humiliating.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
