Random thought, and I’m not saying I disagree with it, but can you think of another instance where a country has insisted that a neighboring country mass their military along their border?
Plenty through history. Specifically when one Country transit's through another country to invade a third country. The Japanese route through Korea in order to invade Manchuria is but one example.

Not the best example - Japan had annexed Korea in 1910 and didn't officially give it up until 1945. There was no Korean Army.

Your response reminds me of the old adage, ‘when all you have is a hammer, every problem is a nail’. Canada has been a strong ally since well before the US became a superpower. Insulting Trudeau is one thing, going out of your way to insult an entire nation is another. It is unnecessary and unhelpful.

Oh, and you don’t need a poll, talk to a few Canadians, you’ll get the idea. Better yet, lace up and jump on the ice with them.

I have spoken to Canadians as there is a surprising amount of them in the North Texas Southern Oklahoma area and they are roughly 50/50 split on being offended and thinking that Trump pissing in Trudeau's cornflakes in hilarious.

Blaser R8. I own three stocks and four barrels. Here's a brief rundown of why...
  • Best factory trigger I've ever had at 2#.
  • Magazine on top of trigger group shortening the rifle by 4".
  • Quick takedown for easy travel.
  • One stock fit for any caliber from 17HMR to 500J.
  • QD scope mount.
  • Mix and match as you please to find the right balance for you.
  • Multiple barrel contours for the same caliber, further customizing your fit.
  • Kickstop easily added to help with felt recoil.
  • Timber, synthetic, thumbhole, adjustable...etc stocks available.
  • Easy resale of most components you don't need along with good deals being found on the used market.
  • Incredible accuracy with factory ammo.
  • Incredibly reliable, I've shot thousands of rounds with no failures.
  • Decocking safety mechanism that is arguably the safest in the industry.
  • Scope mounted on the barrel for more consistent accuracy and return to zero.
  • Do I need to mention how fast they reload?
  • Dealer support is excellent

It’s going on right now in Romania. A huge provocative build up.

Interesting technique. It assumes the fired people are all non-productive. I suppose it could be the case, but because there was no evaluation of individual performance, we'll never know. Interesting to recall however, most criticism of the VA in recent decades has revolved around inadequate staffing for its huge mission. Of one thing I am certain, veterans will not be shy over the next few months in offering their assessment of the results - good or bad. Mission critical and mission necessary are two very different things. The former can keep essential services going for a limited period of time.

In the days of the Cold War, the entire Eastern Block was pushed by Russia to deploy it's soldiers along the borders with NATO countries. I could go on, but I think everyone gets the idea.

That’s actually the opposite of this example. That was a projection of force externally against an adversary. In this case, a neighboring nation is being asked to deploy troops along a common border, I.e. potentially pointing at oneself. 20,000 Mexican forces on one side of the river, border patrol and
National guard on the other.

Never mind, I’m an idiot, I need more coffee. The Mexican troops are going to their southern border.

I've been dealing with the VA for 21 years now. The amount of people that sit on their hands and do absolutely nothing all day will amaze you. It's frustrating that I can't even find a parking spot at the McGuire VA Hospital in Richmond, VA when I go for appointments because of the amount of employees. Having that many employees doesn't make them any more efficient either. They'll make you wait while they finish scrolling on TikTok and Instwhore too. There's a reason they have their own police force.

About a year ago I watched a vet die in the waiting area because the staff couldn't be bothered to look up from their phones. A few of us vets were the ones trying to resuscitate him, not the staff.

I have no love for the VA, and years ago determined to never go to a VA hospital again. That said, I new Rick Shinseki very well who undertook the VA under Obama. Authorized funding during the three years he ran it was always around 60-65% of requirement. Then actual appropriations were typically only 70-75% of the authorization. That meant virtually all operations were understaffed and materiel was underfunded. Thanks to GWOT, that funding has gone up, but the case load has dramatically increased as well.

It may be that all VA employees are sitting around playing tiktok, or it may be their work load exceeds their capacity. I do not know because I never ran nor inspected a VA operation. I doubt I would get much real actionable information staring at a parking lot or sitting in a waiting room. However, I am willing to wager a significant bet that arbitrarily cutting staff will not lead to an enhanced patient experience.

Unlike AID, the VA is providing critical services. It can always do better. Perhaps new leadership and a detailed assessment of budget, staffing, and operations would be a good place to start.

@Red Leg sorry to hear that "that Trump fella" cost you a small fortune. How'd that happen? Retired military pay didn't get affected did it? ..............FWB

Could be in reference to stocks in companies that build munitions and taking a massive hit……

Hunting conditions are a bit tougher in South Africa during the month of February, but can be just as rewarding if done right.
