My daughter got a full ride from UC Berkeley though she chose to go to Yale. Then, went to Harvard Law school. Son went to Rice University.

Both applied as White. My SIL who also went to Yale and Harvard Law also applied as White.

I think the racial preferences were made for marginal students., maybe bottom X percent of those got accepted.

Also, Asian students got discriminated the most, not the White students.

Good for your daughter, but it's happening to white kids and has been happening.

My oldest son graduated cum laude from USNA in quantitative economics and was a 4 year letterman on the D1 swim team, one of my nieces graduated summa cum laude in biology. He had to go to DO school and she had to go offshore.

Hopefully things are changing. He started his adventure 8 years ago while the insanity was probably peak, but he's a 3rd year surgical resident now. My niece is 2nd year med student.

I remember looking at the data a number of years ago, maybe 15 years or so. For white kids and Asian kids, average failure rate for NMB part II was around 8% or so; for black and Latino kids, seems like it was around 40%.

I’m shocked that our market would react that strongly to an AI app that has been Demonstrated by the maker. Not fully vetted.

AI will create even more brainless muppets.....won't have to do any thinking at all etc for themselves...just ask...fk me....swarovski have AI binos that can tell you species ..sex...age..distance..etc etc..etc..watched a video on them....same thing no meed to find out..learn for yourself.....all we have to do is take your money and send you off into the bush.....binos can tell you what you need to know...

I am sure that there will be ridiculous and unnecessary applications of AI. However, there are real life practical applications where it saves one untold amounts of labor in various fields.

The same goes for regular electronics. My new Lexus GX comes with tons of electronic features, I probably use only 10% of it.

Yup I realise the practical bits ...but honestly don't like it....going to be a fkup me thinks not too far in the future....in vehicles I don't want any assistance...nothing electronic that is supposed to help/assist/make your life easier, is in anyway better than the decisions I can make ....

Tanks, I probably didn’t explain my chief point correctly. I have no doubt that the final product will work fine. (Unless you’re researching deficiencies with the Chinese government).

My point is that. I do not believe it was developed with less electric use, less chips and 20 times cheaper. When they release how they did it. I will believe it. Of course that will not happen.

So if the Chinese government wants to build a widget and is willing to sell it to you cheaper than they can build it. and say they can do it because they developed the product 100 times cheaper and faster. And it’s not true. Why would they do that.

China can subsidize the lie. Why would they do that?

Because similar to the OPEC model they are trying flood the market and bankrupt US AI companies. Or worse , move the world to use their platform. Similar to the old Microsoft vs Apple wars. If the majority of people in the world are using Chinese AI it’s a monumental shift in global power.
