Just catching up on the inauguration and watching his speech. How bad it must SUCK to be Biden and Harris to have to sit there and listen to his speech.

Politically speaking the pardons are an absolute blessing for Trump. He would have a lot of pressure from the "believe everything he says" wing of the party to investigate, perhaps even create some sort of charge against some of these people. At best, the whole circus would have been a huge distraction, and each and everyone of them would have been made a martyr by the hostile wing of the fourth estate. Even more friendly networks like Fox and even Nesmax would have had critical questions. His agenda likely would have been the primary victim.

I'm not sure about the circus being over, they can now be called to testify and can't plead the 5th. If they lie, that would be perjury and then the pardons don't apply. I think this is just the beginning of the circus.

In the mid eighties, we were in Monterey for a year while I endured Arabic language emersion training and our second child was born (he still deals with that native Californian thing ). At the time, I was a captain, and in that area we couldn't afford to pay attention. But we loved the then new aquarium and occasionally would save our pennies for a baby sitter and an evening at the Hog's Breath Inn where the owner, that Clint Eastwood fellow, was often in attendance.

I always tried to visit the Hig’s Breath when I was in the area. What a fun spot!
