I’m conflicted on the TikToc conundrum. Should we allow a hostile nation unlimited access to “reprogram” or youths brains, turn cameras on without the users knowledge, track movements etc, etc


Anyone with certain security clearance should absolutely not be allowed to have it on their phone when moving around the globe. Or inside secure buildings or rooms inside certain buildings. Since the camera and sound can be remotely accessed by these bad actors.

On the other hand. Should the Government be allowed to ban a company or force a company to sell. It doesn’t fall under collusion or monopoly clauses.
I guess I lean towards the security argument. But am squeamish about it.

When it comes to violating federal laws concerning controlled substances or immigration CA is more than happy to tell the feds to pound sand. Not so much if some federal agency says it is a violation to remove some brush.

All 50 signers of the Hunter Biden letter are having their security clearance pulled. If any are still employed needing that clearance. They are F’d

Innocent people don't need preemptive pardons.

Biden also pardoned an additional 2500 drug offenders

He must be pardoning them with a date range as he did Hunter. Because they haven’t been convicted of a crime. Fauci was just doing as the government paid him to do.

Trump listened to the “experts” at several intelligence agencies during his last term. With regards to releasing the files on MLK, RFK and JFK assassinations.

He announced he will fully declassify all files on these State secrets. I wonder if it has anything to do with his newfound distrust of those agencies.

Correct. Though in CA when one says Carmel, that is understood. Beautiful place though if you ever get there in the summer make sure you bring a sweatshirt for use at the beach. It can be deceiving as there is a really, really cold breeze at the beach.

I used to love the Highlands Inn with wood burning fireplace and a huge jacuzzi in their spa suites, with great ocean view. Lots of memories with a number of companions. Then, Hyatt bought the place and screwed it up. Haven’t been back since then.

Carmel Mission Inn was one of our favorite accidental discoveries that my wife and I have ever made in our travels over the years, discovered during a last-minute weekend getaway to Big Sur and Napa. We loved it so much, we took our daughters back there during the Thanksgiving holiday later that same year. And the From Scratch restaurant nearby was really good as well.

PS - that beach is one of only two places in the world where my wife couldn't help but burst into tears of joy at the natural beauty. I couldn't have agreed with her more. We are truly fortunate to live in a country with such scenery.

Politically speaking the pardons are an absolute blessing for Trump. He would have a lot of pressure from the "believe everything he says" wing of the party to investigate, perhaps even create some sort of charge against some of these people. At best, the whole circus would have been a huge distraction, and each and everyone of them would have been made a martyr by the hostile wing of the fourth estate. Even more friendly networks like Fox and even Nesmax would have had critical questions. His agenda likely would have been the primary victim.

Ford did it for Nixon, so there is a precedence.

Personally, I don’t care about those folks. However, I agree with the pardons for a different reason. It has been mentioned many times in the MAGA world, and even in these forums that these people should be prosecuted for basically being a political opponent.

If this were to happen it would have sucked the oxygen out of Congress and the media. Trump basically has two years to implement as much of his legislative agenda as he can. This would have been a huge distraction.

Let the second term start without distractions and a legislative focus.
