Hunt anything
AH legend
Yep, the guy that called me works for a fisheries consulting firm and spends most of his time on the water. One of their reasons was the muscles would add to water clarity. That’s a head scratcher to me . Bivalves are filter feeders and improve water quality and clarity which will promote aquatic vegetation and feed those huge red ear sunfish (shell cracker)and bluegill they have. If I remember correctly the accidental introduction of the zebra mussels to the Great Lakes cleaned them up and revitalized them. That being said it’s almost always a mistake to introduce new and potentially invasive species. They shut down lakes over a mussel yet kill every living thing underneath solar farms! Have they not seen the videos of mussel eating world record size shell cracker bream in lake Havasu?
I’ve been out of the fisheries research game for about 30 years and what I learned so long ago may not be valid anymore .
