Politics

Everyone just took off with the niceties didn’t they? Kind of the typical conservative response (of the past anyway) to the type of disingenuous question/comment like @Tanks made. Could definitely see that asinine comment coming from someone on the View. Shouldn’t surprise me coming from a Californian so called “conservative”.

Reminds me of Speaker Johnson’s squishy, neutered statement he initially made on the trannys in women’s bathrooms last week. He changed his tone mighty fast when he realized the American people are sick of that nonsense.

There’s plenty of reason to suggest that anyone who votes Democrat in the present day is evil. Or ignorant
Johnson speaks out of both sides of his mouth. Just like Boehner, Ryan, and McCarthy did

I still don't understand this pick. Was there an under the table deal with Teamsters for not endorsing Harris?

I am always leery of woman with hyphenated last names.

Following the fall of Ukraine's fortress city of Vuhledar, in early October, the ISW and Ukrainska Pravada claimed that the fall of this city was relatively insignificant:

Fast forward to today, with the south Donetsk front being on the verge of collapse, they seem to have changed their tune:

I wonder, have Kremlin propagandists infiltrated the ISW and Ukrainska Pravada or is reality finally catching up with them ?

It's also interesting to note that a neutral military blogger/youtuber named Alex from HistoryLegends predicted 6 months ago, on May 5, 2024, that the Russian military was headed towards an operational victory in the Donetsk Oblast:

Wow, there were certainly no punches pulled in Zeihan's latest hot sports opinion.

I snort-laughed at the viewer comment that Zeihan has turned into the Jim Cramer of geopolitics. :)
Jim Cramer is a good comparison. But hey. He makes a living telling others what to think. What a deal he has.

Yes! Nearly three years of war, 700,000 + Russian casualties and almost 400,000 dead; nearly a thousand miles of new border with NATO; the Baltic a NATO lake; Kaliningrad an indefensible outpost; the modernized Russian army so much rusting metal on the Ukrainian Steppes, the ruble at 100 to the dollar; and Russia forced to beg support from its new allies North Korea and Iran. Yes indeed, all is going swimmingly for the little dictator in the Kremlin and the Russian people.

I get that Caribbean and Mexico medical schools for US citizens usually means (a few go to the Caribbean to party and medical school) they could not get into either Allopathic or Osteopathic school in the US. At least those schools require an undergraduate degree unlike Europe and India.
Just FYI. Medical schools are six years in Europe unlike four here.

Well said! Folks who think that all people in the party opposing their own are evil, are part of the problem.
Decades ago Democrats and Republicans differed on how problems were to be solved but they basically shared common values and a love of country. Now...we have a totally different set of values when we discuss national security, local security, economic security. Totally different values now. You cannot believe in policies that destroy our country and have the same values as myself.

That is certainly true of the extremes on both sides. However, even on this forum we have democrats who are bright, considerate and simply reach a different conclusion than we do with the same data set. To characterize them as evil is a tremendous injustice.

Hear hear! Used to be common goals but different means of achieving those goals. Now , totally different goals. You are a Democrat or support their policies, screw you. I have no use for you. Won’t associate with you, won’t do business with you. Harsh? You made your bed………..,,

I just got a call from a friend in California. They have basically shut down all lakes and rivers to the public due to the appearance of a mussel. I’m starting to think that the government of California doesn’t like it’s citizens.

Their Government doesn't care because they have agendas and many of them are very contrary to the financial health of their citizens. I just read an article from the liberal LA Times regarding green energy. California's citizens have seen a 51% average rate increase in electricity over the last three years. Why? Because California is producing way more solar generated electricity than it can use. So, instead of having to shut down solar panel fields to stop producing electricity which is very expensive, they're PAYING, not giving away, all their excess solar produced electricity to states like New Mexico and Arizona to take the excess electricity. New Mexico ratepayers have saved $34 million and Arizona $68 million in electricity costs by buying California's excess electricity instead of producing their own. What is WRONG with this picture? There's more. California is fazing out the tax credits for homeowner rooftop solar panels because they're not using enough of the excess electricity produced by the solar juggernaut. And their Governor Newsome wants to continue to build some 400 square miles of solar panels so they can become carbon neutral by 2050. It truly is unbelievable.

It’s hard to even fathom 400 square miles of solar panels. So much wildlife habitat will be lost and no one seems to give a crap. These people will destroy what they claim to be saving no matter what the cost.

Well.....I don't disagree that we have democrats that are bright, considerate here in our forum and in our society.........I don't see how someone reaches a 180 degree different conclusion based on the "data". I suppose I look at it in a more simple version of "cause and effect". Open, unchecked, unvetted borders produce more opportunities for crime and cartel, gang involvement (which by their nature are criminal). How anyone could argue that our current border "policy" is not harming our national security is baffling to me. That's one cause and effect. Another is defunding the police....what did democrats think was going to happen when you start cutting law enforcement? Another cause and effect would be energy independence. Restrict fossil fuel usage.....which is our lifeblood and something we do cleaner than any other country I'm aware of.........prices increase and are passed along to consumers. We lose energy independence and position our country to be dependent on OPEC as in the 70's? Can't we again produce excess energy and sell abroad....at a better price to other nations. See......to me.....it is not a matter of intelligence or consideration.......it is a matter of totally different wavelengths regarding beliefs and values. Some of these "cause and effects" are pretty black and white......but that is because I have totally opposite values. IMHO

The current massive solar panel fields there have already destroyed many square miles of critical habitat in the Mojave desert according to the same article. The state legislature is full of radical climate change activists and wealthy liberal elitists who will pursue their utopian fantasy regardless because it doesn't affect THEM financially. But the majority in California elected them so they get to harvest the toxic seeds they sowed.
