There is a guy screaming at me over on X in all CAPS no less that there was no airplane at the Pentagon. He is particularly immune to the notion that being there and wading through half an acre of aircraft bits trying to pull people out could not be true. I am, therefore, a LIAR.

Would love to take him back there. The passengers were nothing but body parts blown into the building. The kids of the Old Guard, 4th BN 3rd INF, spent the next couple of weeks in bio suits and protective masks collecting them. Due to the heat and trauma they could manage an hour or two at a time.

People get invested in this nonsense or trapped in the rabbit hole and become immune to alternative information. It really is cult-like.

Someone should show that guy photos of the carnage of human remains from that incident.

Indeed. Though, I wonder about the choice to run him.

In recent years there has been a bit of drop in the “I believe in the 2a, but…” mask. After the Parkland shooting, politicians seemed more comfortable calling for outright bans. Think Robert O’Rourke with his “hell yes, we are coming to take your AR-15” comment. Some have called for a constitutional convention to abolish the 2A outright.

Has the pendulum swung back on that kind of rhetoric? Do they think it’s necessary to hide naked hostility to the 2A again? That’s the only reason to run an Fudd. Obviously it didn’t help Harris/Waltz but I’m curious to see how they discuss gun control moving forward. I don’t think the platform will change but the rhetoric might.

I have a feeling the FBI is going to have a much smaller footprint. Hopefully a ton of stuff will be declassified including the Gaetz info. Regarding the FBI, there needs to a federal law enforcement agency in some form. If it is called the FBI or something else is another discussion. After a shakeup, look for the DC office to have a nominal HQ staff and everyone else sent to field offices at a minimum. The new FBI building project is a dream in the past. Everyone who was involved in Russia Gate should probably be investigated and prosecuted, especially those in NSB and those who supervised NSB. Also look for NSB to be subject to internal oversight which has not happened since it's establishment.

America needs a Church Commission, 2025 version. We need to know why Wray and others did over 200,000 illegal searches without warrants on American citizens.

Agree. The FBI is extremely busy protecting the homeland. From the near peer to extremist threats they are working 24/7 to keep us safe. HRT is on call 24/7 365 as the Mission Force to respond to any CT crisis in the US. Those who call for it to be abolished have either listened to too much right wing news or just plain ignorant.
