Ukrainian women are serving in the front lines in Ukraine. They hold fire support, sniper, and medic positions. Many have given their lives.

Understood. I submit that Ukraine and Israel are special cases in that each is fighting for their lives against invaders. Different from sending troops into foreign lands to enforce national will. Should the U.S. be invaded and threatened with subjugation I would hope we would use every asset we have to save ourselves. Even women and ancient farts like me.

There are a ton of positions in any combat situation and if Ukraine has taught us anything it is that supply chain/logistics and drones will have a major impact on any way going forever. Women are more than capable in these roles and as pointed out earlier when shit hits the fan can perform bravely.

That was back then. Today as back then I'm all for women filling combat roles. Providing they want and have what it takes to give, and accept the responsibility of their actions, or in actions, during a firefight. Or in a heavy hostile situation.

A friend's daughter just graduated from West Point, she could have chosen many billets upon graduation. She got her first choice and took off for Black Hawk pilot training. I know this young lady. If she is in combat, she will rise to the occasion.

China has a national ID card and it is required to pass through all kinds of gates and turnstiles throughout the country. It leads to no privacy. I can just hear the calls by Whitmer, Newsome, Ferguson, Walz, etc… implementing similar requirements in their states in the name of “safety.” No thanks!

Well, you want to see the papers to vote, don't you? Also, I gather you travel internationally to countries that have National ID, how often do you get stopped and asked for papers on a normal day. Has never happened to me in Europe. Once in Brazil at a roadblock, and there they were looking at trunks of every car, didn't ask for ID.

NV has had Real ID for years. It's a star on your driver license and necessary for a variety of uses. No big deal. Nothing to snivel and whine about govt oversight or invasion of privacy.

I’m all for Women in the Armed forces - for North Korea, Russia, or China but Not in Combat roles for the US….we need to fight to WIN and Not for political correctness

So that is why males insist on identifing as females so they can participate in the women's Olympic games and win. Because they can't compete equally with other men.

@ActionBob - there is already a PASSPORT available in the US and that should be the only “National ID” required - it is also an Internationally recognized ID. Our Government can barely keep track of the IDs and documents they issue now - No need to add to their unorganized confusion !

@jeanes - Yes, Russia uses Women and has since WWII, some very famous Russian “Women” snipers with record kill numbers. But the Russian Army is a mess now, forced to use “prisoners & others facing criminal charges”, losing a fist fight with the Smallest-kid-on-on-the-Block ! So I would Not model our Army on the Russians —- weak, ineffective, no leadership as they’ve demonstrated in war with Ukraine.. Women in Combat reflects one of two things: Politically Correctness or Desperation. Women in the Military is fine — being used behind the lines, collecting “intell”, operating sophisticated weapons of War (drones, fighter jets, etc..) …in my opinion and obviously I’m Not a General.

@Ridge Runner - I get your point and you cite some good examples, maybe you were even in the Military and served with Women and therefore have real experiance that I lack, so I respect your POV for that and I can Not match that. I do know men in the Military now and Officers that oversee training: Women do Not have to meet the same Physical fitness standards that men do and unless they recently reduced the physical standards for ALL because of recruiting difficulties. To some of your Bullit points - You quote the rare “exceptions” and Not the majority or even averages ie” Yes, some Women can kick a mans ass and especially a well trained and conditioned MMA fighter….but she can’t beat a similarly trained, similar sized MMA Male fighter and let me know what “bout” took place in MMA where a female beat a male??
Regarding Bravery Men vs. Women - agree No difference there. Operating a firearm, tank, fighter jet, Drone etc.. - agree No difference there. But Women are NOT Physically equal to Men, No woman has ever beaten a World record held by Men - Name ONE athletic physical World Record held by a Woman? Weightlifting, Running, Swimming, Pole Vault, High Jump, Marathon, 100m dash, etc… or explain why if Women are equal they are not openly competing head-to-head with Men in all athletic fields? I do Not doubt that you have served with some exceptional female soldiers - brave, competent, physically fit, and highly capable….but they’re the “exceptions”. Even the highly touted U.S. Women’s Soccer Team, World Cup Winners - couldn’t beat a Men’s Soccer Team and very unlikely they could beat any top College Men’s team….watching them play is entertaining but like Men’s Soccer in “slow motion”,,,,,same with Women’s Pro tennis,

OK, enough of the ridiculous “examples” as we both get our points. Woman fight for the Mossad and IDF because the very small population of Israel, combined with enemies on all borders, requires “everyone” must serve in the military. It has helped to highlight how valuable women can be in the military and the great contributions they can make and their “bravery” was never in question. To your question “Do I think American Women in the Military are LESS Capable then other Countries?” Answer: NO, but I do think that “most” MOST are NOT as “willing” to sacrifice and do what it takes to be a good soldier. When I say “most” I mean most of the U.S. population of Women - Not the few that decide to go into the military voluntarily.
Here is my final questions:
1). Why have Women NEVER been drafted to serve in a U.S. military during a War?
2). Should Women be required to be drafted into War - the same as men?

@jeanes agree, I would serve in any War if my Country needed me and felt I could make a contribution…even though I’m well above that age limit for Military service.
