And here is the Joe Rogan podcast interview of Trump today. This sort of one-on-one engagement is Trump's best venue. Harris would not have survived an hour.

Just had some driving to do, and listened to most of the 3h session. Some of my observations, thoughts (for what that is worth):

- Trump appeared very calm, much more reasonable than he is often appearing in the media. I know Joe Rogan has a calming effect. But the thought I had is, maybe some of the negative traits that are ascribed to Trump are more to do with his reactionary nature, and being put under pressure to often. Take the combativeness out of a discussion, and suddenly he seems a lot more agreeable.

- At the end Joe was trying to dig a bit deeper into Trump's thoughts on the result of the 2020 election. Trump reconfirmed his opinion that the election was stolen. However, this was the first time I heard him use his own words to explain what he meant. Basically his logic was: it was a tight race, with only a few votes difference between him and Joe Biden. Combining this with Russian Collusion Story, the Hunter Biden Laptop story, each of them capable of having a few % impact on the results. As well as the way some states did not follow perfect procedure (ratification etc.) of the Covid-times voting rules, meant for Trump that this combination was enough of a finger on the scale to give validity to his claim that the election was stolen. I can see some merit to this thinking. It is also a far cry from what some have insinuated him saying that millions of fake ballots have counted.

- All over, this interview with Joe Rogan, will have sealed the deal for many. He did excellent (although the endless Amazing, The Best, The Greatest, is sometimes a bit repetitive)

Amazing what American's can do when not stifled by government regulations, rules, policies and procedures. The road was probably built faster than it would have taken a company to fill out the DEI forms.

Glad that they did it. That being said, one leaves oneself to a lot of liability suits in case of an accident. There are projects we have done where without the "regulations, policies, procedures etc." we could MacGyver it much cheaper and faster. However, that would have given us no legal cover.

In the past we have implemented a multimillion-dollar MES system for the manufacture of an electronic connector that was going to be used in a classified application. The requirement was to have a complete genealogy of every connector. That meant from a serial number one could look at each component of that connector, every step of the manufacturing process for all components, who worked on it, how long, clean room particle counts, temperatures etc., etc.. Was it necessary? Who knows, but it was part of the specifications, and the company spent millions on compliance (it was a big enough of an order for them to build a complete new plant). In this case the government regulation kept a lot of people employed. ;)

This isn't a project, it's not paid for by the government or sanctioned. These were neighbors from 10-100(s) of miles away making time and risking their livelihoods and lives to build a road so people could get back to their homes or what left of their property from over a month ago.

They frankly don't care about liability as the people who use this road wouldn't fathom even a hinkling of liability as they already lost so much.

You'll forgive the passion in my writing as these were some of my friends and former neighbors that went thru Helene in western, NC. I myself was in Canton, NC for the storm and was only able to evacuate over the mountains do to the locals clearing paths in roads or cutting new roads within a day. These men and women understand what it means to get back and start to rebuild.

The NC DOT and FEMA even visited the team building this road and didnt say a peep. Possibly smartest decision made since Helene by them.

About two months ago, The Biden Administration (whoever that is) sanctioned Russia ( again ) for election interference in the current Presidential campaigns. Imagine, interfering in a foreign election!...........stay free..........FWB

I think it is really sad that we have come to think of people we have differing opinions with as enemies or the devil.

BTW, the infrastructure bill which both parties take credit for was a compromise.

I can understand that some issues like abortion, gun control etc. will not have a meeting of minds however there are a whole slew of spending priorities in budget etc. where a compromise can be reached. Study game theory.
If you think the problem is differing opinions, you haven't been paying attention.

Surgically removing the genitalia from pre teen boys and girls because a teacher has them convinced that they were born into the wrong body is EVIL.

My calling out evil is not the problem. Some people's inability to see evil is the problem.

I have an idea for punishment for one of the long time Dem supporter/entertainer class and also one of bho’s favorites- P Diddy. How about putting a valve in his ear and sending him to the big house for at least 20 years as a blow up doll. Those who say evil doesn’t exist may not know the difference, hiding in the delusional comfort of a shade of gray.

We're not a democracy anyway, so there's nothing to end.
we are suppose to be a republic as in the republic of california ,suppose to be ! one reason IM not keen on ballot initiatives written by lawyers to change how we are governed

Reading comprehension is a problem as well. I said...

I'd submit what you mentioned comes under issues that will not have a meeting of minds.

BTW, what would you call some State legislatures that have passed broad anti-abortion laws that do not allow termination of ectopic pregnancies?

Idk what @skydiver386 would call them, and I’ll let him address that if he wishes. I would call them states that have attempted to close the door on every conceivable angle that the progressive left would use to try and slide their nose in under the door. Over-reaction possibly, in an attempt to be proactive in their pro life stance. Can’t blame them for that, knowing the progressive left. Damn few state where you can’t drive a short way and be in a pro-baby killing state. If you don’t want to live in such a strict, pro life state, then move.

Genuine question, wouldn't ectopic fall under life of the mother? If it grows the mother is in serious danger.

I listened to the full interview today, and he truly did do great. This interview has been anticipated by JRE's audience for quite some time, and I think the timing couldn't be better.

Or vote accordingly and eventually change the laws.
But this was not about me, I just pointed out one particular subject where sides will not agree. And calling each other evil etc. just prevents either side from working together with the other side on issues where there can be compromise.

Now, as seen in the current Congress there is a faction that would rather get 100% of nothing instead of 80% of something. Those will always be there unfortunately, and eventually will cause the other side to win outright, then they will always get 100% of nothing.

I’m not a fan of the freedom caucus or the squad…

But I think they both proven at this point that they can achieve 100 of something…

McCarthy is no longer the speaker.. that was a FC initiated and backed move…

The list of AOC accomplishments is actually quite long (albeit mostly meaningless in the grand scope of things).. google the amount of legislation she has drafted and gotten passed, or that she co-sponsored… most of its little add ons to larger legislation.. but the left generally gives her a piece of the action as a matter of routine…

There are other examples on both sides..

The issue for the freedom caucus is they were tired or the R’s getting what they thought was 20% out of each bargain… so, yes, they’d rather have 100% of something or 100% of nothing…

The issue for the squad is.. they aren’t democrats.. they’re socialists.. so they’ve generally been getting nothing… now they want everything.. and are willing to take it one tiny bite at a time if allowed..

Yup...it develops in the fallopian tube...friend of mine had it happen...didn't know anything about till she collapsed in agony in a shop....emergency surgery ensued....the foetus will not develop as its not in the uterus....

Both of your contentions above show that you do not comprehend the depth of how truly far apart we have become politically... Many fail to recognize that this growing separation is due to the fact that the left has bounded to the extreme left, while the right has steadily maintained its positions. Ironically, the left has been falsely accusing the right as being the party of extremism...

When you have one side that has no regard for the Constitution or the rule of law, the boundaries of reason and compromise have been exceeded... As @mdwest correctly pointed out, and what you fail to recognize is that 20% of 100% is not compromise... It's capitulation.

There is a stark difference between hyperbolic political rhetoric and true evil...The dems are eagerly willing to use any means at their deposal including the weaponization of the justice system and control the media to achieve their agenda of which that vast majority is evil...They have demonstrated time and again that they will let cities burn, our borders be overrun, and our children mutilated, molested, and murdered to achieve their agendas... If that is not evil, then please tell me what is...?

I think ectopic pregnancy is the only situation where an abortion related procedure should be allowed. No chance of survival for the baby and highly likely the mother’s life is genuinely at risk. Allegedly account for ~2% of pregnancies with many ending in miscarriages. That said I believe that’s completely different than an abortion of a child in the uterus. Intrauterine pregnancy left alone will likely result in a healthy baby in 9 months, statistically speaking. Hopefully one day modern medicine will be able to move the embryo from the incorrect location (most often one of the fallopian tubes) to the uterus.

My quibble with the example is that all the removing of a very capable and broadly respected republican speaker accomplished absolutely nothing but throw the House in turmoil while undermining the people"s perception of the ability of republicans to govern at all. At the same time, their obstruction provided lots of air time to some of the more offensive or ridiculous members of our party in a run-up to an election. Not the smartest strategy to win an undecided vote.

Further, their opposition to providing military aid to Ukraine did more damage to the Ukrainian military effort than any attack Putin could have ordered short of multiple nuclear strikes. Lots of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians paid with their lives so the Freedom Caucus could have a public tantrum that accomplished nothing for the party or the country.

A 100% of nothing is exactly that - nothing. We could also call it defeat.

The people everyone seems comfortable calling evil make up half the electorate. Even in a state like Texas they will make up around 46% of the voters counted on Tuesday. Neither side has anywhere to go and neither side is going to convince the outer wings of either party to support anything. I remain convinced that there is still a far broader swath of voters, if not politicians, down the center who would much prefer to participate in and be represented by a constructive government.

@BSO Dave ...June 28, 2023.....ALL House democrats except Joe Manchin, stand behind The Equality Act......which allows.....among many other things.....40 year old men to shower with your 14 year old daughter or grand daughter in the locker room. ......(check it out.) It may not fit the definition of "Evil"....(whatever that truly is.)...but it's damn close..............FWB

Hi Walden. Good morning from England, Chris here (The Englishman!) from Croatia. Firstly it was a pleasure to meet you and Michelle - a fellow Sanderson! I have finally joined AH as I enjoy it very much. Glad you enjoyed the hunt and your write up which I read on AR was very good indeed. I am sending on WhatsApp pics from Bojan of some of the animals hunted recently. Take care and best regards. CS.
