It is not precisely “Us” but Samsung is putting in a 17 billion dollar semi-conductor plant just down the road a ways.

Intel is in the process of building another large fab here in the Phoenix area and so is TSMC (Taiwan Semi-Conductor). And I believe there are other fabs in the works in other states as well as the still fairly new fab about an hour north of Albany, NY.

The writing has been on the wall for awhile now. The pandemic added new light to make it easier to read. This is one area where it seems the politicians on both sides woke up, put aside differences and have been working to do the right thing for the country.

The USA is important, but it is not the world. I get the feeling that the sensible liberals are beginning to get the message that by relegating themselves to impotent rainbow utopians the rest of the world will not follow suit and and all they really will have achieved is creating an easy slave pool for their future masters. The USA needs to get rid of their current unicorn government very fast indeed and start regaining lost ground.

From the election results yesterday it's clear that there are still a lot of urban DemonRats that for one reason or another are clinging to their sinking ship and forcing the rest of us to go down with it. Two examples: Wa State congress, two reps voted to convict Pres Trump and they still won their spot for re-election. They shouldhave been tarred and feathered and sent to Corsica.

Ray, what do you think the odds are that Trump would win if he stood in 24? I am an outsider as you know, but I can't call this one from all the objective reading I do.

@Kevin Peacocke There are forces that complicate the issue between the Republicans such as Herrera and Hastings that are so anti-Trump that they are willing to destruct the country, and what's worse, they both just withstood primary challenges from ethical Republican candidates. So there are still voters out there that are either ignorant or corrupt.
It would be good for the US and the free world, and actually the Communist world too if Trump ere elected for another term, but the forces of evil are against him- so it would be one HELL of a fight.

As MLK said, "We shall overcome." The GOP can if they get their heads out in the sunshine and start working together. With all the stupidity on the other side I don't see how anyone with even a microscopic modicum of cranial acuity could vote otherwise.

No one is invading Taiwan in the short term despite what the media and the "experts" say.

China needs the chips as bad, if not worse, as we do. They won't risk that. And last update I saw they were fairly significantly behind the States even with a plan to "roll their own."

Particularly disturbing as you folks already had a "turn in your guns--even the heirloom ones--so we can destroy them" failed policy moment. How could it be that anyone failed to learn the lesson?

Left wing media propaganda , left wing school & university teachers, have created a generation of weak minded wokes that believe in the climate change renewable energy fantasy, our politicians & military leaders are campaigning to have Rainbow days, we are on the road to disaster. the wokes only won power with help of the Greens & trade union help, lies & propaganda & spin doctors.

The gun bans weren't brought in by the Labor Party, they were the product of the 'conservative' gov't led by John Howard - George Bush's "Man of Steel". The recent Liberal (conservative) Gov't got chucked out because it had long lost the plot and was being run by a marketing type with no idea of the real world. Personally I don't think any of the current crop of polies are worth two bob. Bugger all of them have ever worked in the real world. That said, the vote was quite unambiguous so I am happy to give the people's choice a chance to prove themselves. From what I can see so far, they're not doing as badly as I expected.

bullshit

G'day Rdog, always welcome your opinion.

Perhaps you could clarify whether you're calling BS on:
i. John Howard being responsible for the longarm bans in 1996/97, or
ii John Howard being responsible for the handgun bans in 2003, or
iii Scott Morrison's Government amending the Commonwealth Criminal Code to bring in mandatory minimum jail sentences even for minor or inadvertent breaches in moving firearms between states. or
iv. None of the politicians (from any party) being out of touch and not worth two bob, or
v. That the Libs were voted out of office, or
vi. We all expected the Labor mob to be a total horror show, but so far they haven't been as bad as expected?

The trouble is all recent Australian governments were quite left-leaning, promoting and desiring very strong government regulations, oversight and control over the society and businesses with high taxes etc. When QLD Police adopted facial recognition in mass public surveillance it was second such system in the world after China. Ozzie Police cars are equipped with number plate scanning technology that bring up past offences commited in passing cars on the screen. I was driving a standard hired car for a week once and got pulled over and breathalised several times every day, with cops driving by, doing a u turn behind me and pulling me over. All this in the middle of the day in busy areas of Sydney. Eventually I asked them what the hell and was told someone was drink driving this vehicle, failed to stop for RBT, got chased and arrested and the car is now in their database. The car had a QLD plate, I have a NSW licence and after passing the breath test the officer would understand I wasn’t the offender and would relax but man what a hassle.

The Labour and the greens are certainly more left leaning to a point were calling them socialist is fair but LPA is not a right-wing or even centrist party by any stretch. And it is these left winged economical policies applied over time that have demolished and led to the demise of Australia’s manufacturing industry.

Or for the next 9 years, either.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
