I guess this is the right place for it, but judging by the speeches of Biden and his top administration officials over the last couple of weeks, I feel like they are almost daring or encouraging a conflict in Ukraine.
It makes me extremely disappointed that it seems like this is being done to A) take the news cycle off the inflation, job, COVID, Freedom Convey, etc news that has not been kind to the Biden Administration and B) so they can launch harsh sanctions against Russian (mostly in name only) to appear tough and keep the Russian collusion narrative going ahead of the midterms.
There has been a separationist movement/conflict in Ukraine for over a decade, in combination with a troop build up for a while (though it has escalated). I dont think the US sending troops into Eastern Europe, does absolutely nothing other than cause more tension and actually give Russia somewhat of an excuse to prepare for war or even take action. We have already said we arent sending in troops so whats the point.
I really hope, this game of posturing will die down. I'm way more worried about what China is doing!
