I think a far left politician, i.e. wanna be dictator, is more likely to use excessive force to maintain near absolute power than a middle of the road conservative.

I'd be hard-pressed to name a single conservative government which has done this.

In spite of post-WWII propaganda, Germany was most ricky-tick a leftist country. They were national socialists, and the Soviets were international socialists/communists. There is no feud like a feud within the family.

I have a solution for the impasse in Ottawa. What does the govt want? It wants the truckers to leave. What do the truckers want? they want the vaccine mandates lifted so that they can drive their trucks without being hassled. So simple. the govt lifts the mandates and the truckers leave.

Since this would be seen as the govt caving to the truckers demand, the govt will probably not concede.- So option two.

the govt refuses to lift the mandates- so the truckers just call an end to the "truck-in" and once the govt give the truckers their fuel back, the truckers agree to leave. However, the truckers leave with a proviso- when they leave, they will NEVER bring a load of anything to Ottawa or any destination within 25 miles of Ottawa.

I guess the govt of Ottawa will get their wish of a society where no fossil fuel is being used for trucks- not sure how they will get food and essentials to life with their Teslas as the main means of transport.

Many of the people in Ottawa are just starting to comprehend this. The politicians know they have a problem. Kind of fun to watch them squirm.

It will be funny if Trudeau arrests the truckers and food stops flowing to Ottawa. Let them drive to Montreal for food. They may have a better appreciation for truckers. Or not......

a beautiful thing. seems lots of Canadians are defying the police on bringing fuel to the truckers. there appears to be an army of people carrying fuel cans, some empty, some full, and the police cannot tell the difference, nor arrest them all.
