“The filing, which asks a federal judge to dismiss the criminal charges against James on the basis of outrageous government conduct, reveals some new details about how people inside Fannie Mae viewed the investigation into James and the role that Trump ally Bill Pulte, the nation’s top housing regulator, played in shaping the probe.”

“The filing, which asks a federal judge to dismiss the criminal charges against James on the basis of outrageous government conduct, reveals some new details about how people inside Fannie Mae viewed the investigation into James and the role that Trump ally Bill Pulte, the nation’s top housing regulator, played in shaping the probe.”

Mortgage fraud is very, very hard to prove. You attest that the loan is for your primary residence and you intend to occupy it as your domicile for the first 1-2 years. The key word is "intend". When you don't occupy it, the onus is on the prosecutor to prove your state of mind. That is hard. Defenses can be "I got in a fight with a spouse and decided not to move, my granny got sick, I got a new job, etc."

My son in law lost close friends when their home, next door to his mother’s, was struck by a Russian missile hitting a civilian target yesterday.

I am sick of this war and the senseless loss of life.
I am sick of Russian apologists blaming the Russian invasion of Ukraine on Ukraine.
I am sick of the little megalomaniac in Moscow who is willing to sacrifice so many lives in pursuit of his ambitions.

Easy to prove, if it's lawfare against Donald Trump, and the case has already been decided before anyone even steps in the courtroom.

Interesting perspective by Fannie Mae.

I have invested in real estate my adult life
and have bought over 100 residential properties.(1-4 units). In Oklahoma I see Fannie, Freddie and FHA turning over documents to DOJ for prosecution in cases like James has been indicted for fraud.

1. James has been NY AG since 2019. She is required to have her primary residence in NY. She buys a Virginia property for her niece to live in signing documents that it will be her primary residence. Lower down payment and lower interest rate. Pretty straight forward.

2. She owns a five unit building in NY and claims it is a 4-plex which falls under different underwriting rules which allow lower down payments and lower interest rates. Again pretty straight forward.

In Oklahoma, from the documents that have been released that it would be a slam dunk case. It is pretty hilarious that James goes after Trump for mortgage fraud while committing mortgage fraud herself while prosecuting Trump.

In New York and Virginia I have no clue how a jury would decide or how it would be prosecuted. What I am confident of is that Fannie and DOJ would prosecute fully if this happened in Oklahoma.

From afar it seems like Fannie has jumped into playing politics regarding James.
