Federal revenues are distributed based upon congressional authorizations and appropriations. Those allocations and appropriations are generally of an annual basis. Should the budget time out without either new budgets or a continuing resolution allowing expenditures at current budget levels, the money sits in a big digital pile. In other words, no one has the authority to use those as of yet unappropriated funds for any purpose requiring congressional action. The current "clean" continuing resolution would continue last year's appropriations at the current spending rate until the passage of either yet another CR or a budget. Using contingency funds is legally complex and the administration has asked the two judges demanding their use, how to proceed, though they are using those funds to pay about half the requirement.

First, they ran out of your tax dollars several months ago as we are now using borrowed money. Google Federal revenue vs Federal expenditures.

Secondly, Congress determines money to be spent regardless of the funds being there. The appropriations ran out, hence the need for the CR that is being voted down in the Senate. Even if it gets approved today, we'll be at the same boat in 3 weeks as the CR was to Nov. 21st.

Is it staff not available to work the machines or what? But they are going to dole out partial payments through a supplemental cache of money.

Non violent illegal immigrants would not likely be swept up if it were not for the fact that in Democrat held territory (cities and states). Politicians refuse to enforce ICE detainers on repeat violent offenders.

ICE could peacefully walk in and walk out of a lockup with the 12 time felon.

But since they have to hunt them down in sanctuary cities. The felons tend to hang in the same cultures. With people speaking the same language. So when they kick in the door, or pick one out of a crowd and get their man and they’re standing next to other non violent illegals, those people are being swept up


If Democrats really want to keep their Census head count in sanctuary cities. And limit non violent illegals being arrested. Then they could honor ICE detainers.

I am pretty sure anyone being run for a traffic stop or the like and discovered with rap sheet is leaving the country. A DUI also seems to be an automatic expulsion. Father of a couple of dreamers we know was pulled over DUI (his second) and was gone in short order. I should add he is a pretty sorry individual and no one is happier than his wife. What I have not seen anywhere around this part of Texas is any effort to simply round up illegals.

This I cannot understand whatsoever. My thinking is this: NY and CA are absolutely leftist and no Republican can win those States whatsoever. Mamdani is going to be an utter disaster, but an utter disaster is what NYC wants. Let them experiment with socialism. Let them reap the full experience of socialism. It’s not like wealth will disappear, the best of NYC will continue their mass exodus to the friendly State of FL.

Why should Trump back lefty-loser Cuomo when the citizens (and non-citizens?) of NYC wants Mamdani? Let it go. Let the experiment take its course.

Between Gavin in CA and Mamdani in NYC, I would think it would ensure 20 years of Republican leadership in this country all while using them as case studies in what not to do.

I get your point. But the cancer won’t stay in Minneapolis , California, New York and Chicago.

We most likely will find out how New York succeeds or fails with socialism because people will rarely not vote for free things from the treasury.

Unfortunately society’s naturally move farther left over decades and centuries. Each incremental nudge or Over stretching of the rubber band comes back towards center each time a conservative is in charge. But the rubber band never fully comes back to its neutral state in the center. The leftist ideology moves incrementally forward.

Policy that seems like crazy talk now will be law in 20 years.


A small example; People like the new Mayor of New York believe you should not have an individual retirement plan when others don’t. So Yours will be taxed (or confiscated) to pay for others social security or retirement plans. The fair share argument keeps creeping down the economic ladder. That’s why it’s important not to fall for class warfare. There isn’t enough money in billionaires pockets to pay for everything the Leftist wants. He is coming for all of our wallets.
