I dont think thats a lack of concern or a disregard for human life.. I think Trumps statement is a sad reality in many situations and he's just saying the things that no one else is willing to say..

there are conflicts all over the world happening right now.. most of which neither the US or Europe is involved in.. Why isn't Spain or the US sending troops or other aid to Myanmar right now or in some way trying to end the conflict there? Or Sudan? or the recent Pakistan-India dust up?

The truth is, its simply not in Spain or the US's national interests...

People are dying all over the world as this message gets typed.. and most of the developed countries could care less..

Combine that with a large segment of the US population is simply tired of being the "world police".. we have a 70+ year history post WW2 of involving ourselves in conflicts that in one way shape or form really don't overtly concern us.. Why did we really need to be in Somalia in the 90's as an example? Because Somalis were killing Somalis and people were suffering? Why were we involved in the Balkins? etc.. (while there may be strategic arguments that could be made for either, the average American doesn't understand why we would be putting our people or our economy at risk, why we would be funding the resolution for someone else's crisis, etc.)....

At the end of the day, the question really isn't about people and who is getting killed... both of our nations turn a blind eye every day to rampant killing of people all over the globe.. the question is what is in a countrys strategic interest? Clearly it is in Europes strategic interest to see the Russians crippled in this conflict.. Some Americans (perhaps most) agree that it is also in the US's strategic interest to see the Russians crippled in this conflict and saving some Ukrainian lives in the process would be a positive by-product of that... that said, there are many Americans that believe that Ukraine is not a US concern... they will go so far as to say seeing both Ukraine and Russia crippled is in the US national and strategic interest..

Lives lost as not much more than an ancillary concern unfortunately..

When he talks, the world listens, I still think it was not a proper comment for the President of the USA.

And yes, I don´t think he has any concern for anyboby other than himself.

World police...well, even my own small country has a few thousands of servicemen all over the world in differet peace keeping missions, we will not end the killing, but maybe we can help.
