'You just say Ukraine.'

But while I'm here, it's callous to make light of the prospect of innocent civilians being murdered in their beds.
Maybe you should call Putin and talk to him about it.
None of you give a shit about Americans dying from the results of our southern border invasion.

That is where you and those who think like you are so wrong. I support Trump's every effort to secure the border and to deport criminal aliens. But I have enough ability to actually think for myself to realize just how awful is Trump's grasp of our critical international interests. The sheer callousness of an order that kills innocents because Zelensky didn't kiss his ring adequately is beyond the pale. I truly have no comprehension of the minds of those who support it.

Does this mean you oppose cattle and sheep?
Fair question. My brother runs cattle and I hunt regularly on several sheep farms in the district. I shoot a lot of foxes and pigs that eat lambs and ewes giving birth.

I do not oppose cattle and sheep, but I don't think it's wise to clear forests for them either. I eat beef and wear wool. In Australia, lots of trees were felled to clear land for cattle and sheep. It's damaged the land, hugely. I am in favour of planting trees to restore the land, save the soil and our beautiful and fascinating wildlife, as well as soak up carbon.

Many of our farmers struggle to make a living on a thousand or more acres. In many places the land is ruined. If being sponsored to plant trees on behalf of city folk becomes a far more lucrative lifestyle than running livestock, then I'm happy for them to switch. I'll be trying to help them with that.

Really? :) Zelenskyyyyy has spent the last 3 years jet setting around the world meeting with movie stars, dignitaries and world leaders like a rock star, hero and savior of world democracy with everyone kissing his ring and stepping on each other for a selfie. He expected that again but it did't quite work out that way.
Sure. But when in the meeting did he say he wouldn't sign the agreement today?

Crickets.

Thanks to Chuck Schumer's coaching, Zelinskyy tried to ambush Trump.
Seems that came back to bite him in the ass.
Zelinskyy's days are numbered before he's forced out

How many rooms in your house are you willing to yield to a home invader that’s murdered your people to get him to stop and how much are you willing to pay your insurance provider to negotiate the stoppage for you. That’s what it boils down to in my mind at least. Trump is asking Z to yield territory to Putin while charging him for it.

In my world, home invaders run into a barrage of lead, and leave in a body bag.

I forgot to add all the Ukrainian blood on Biden's hands. Had we not had a spineless sewer rat for a President, Russia would never have invaded the Ukraine.
But Russia did, and the Ukrainians have been fighting bravely to save their country ever since. Tonight, my president abandoned those people because he is personally affronted. That sickens me almost as much as those who cheer him. It is the antithesis of what this country has stood for since its inception. Sure we have been wrong on occasions, but never more blatantly than this evening.

That’s what the Ukrainians are doing this very minute to the Russians. Can you see a reason to blame them for starting the fight or wanting to see it through to the end?

General Jack Keane comments on the recent Trump-Zelenskyy's press conference:

General Keane's assessment of Zelenskyy affirms that Zelenskyy is a first class weasel!

Really interesting. This casts a very different light on the debacle. Thanks for sharing it!

That ship has sailed along with 45 RPM records. We are looking to steal Ukraine’s natural resources because we are not self sufficient. It is a global economy whether you like it or not. Ignore it at your peril as a country. You wouldn’t be able to post here without imported stuff.
"Steal", and not shared economic enterprise? You see our attempt as nefarious?

I can't imagine the mental gymnastics required to equate the Russian invasion of Ukraine and subsequent devastation, with an assorted smattering of Mexicans, Hondurans, and Guatemalans et al crossing the border.

In other news:

White House seeks plan for possible Russia sanctions relief, sources say

Tariffs on neighbours and allies. Sanctions relief for Russia.
What a time to be alive.

I always respect Keane's take on any issue.

Maybe I wouldn't get through. I did get through to my Prime Minister though. So I am working on the problem.

That's quite a leap you've taken there. I give a shit and I'm not American. Prospective immigrants should use formal methods to apply for positions a host nation makes available.

We had a Prime Minister who won an election in 2001 with the line, 'We will decide who comes to our country and the circumstances in which they come.'

Sadly, forced migration is being weaponised and used to foment political change.

Managed migration can be hugely beneficial to nations, such as Australia, Canada and the USA. We might end up fighting over Taiwanese chip technicians.

In 2024, the U.S. exported $349.4 billion worth of goods to Canada, and imported $412.7 billion worth of goods from Canada.

the US buys Canadian oil at a discount and exports at full price, which currently yields a US$19 billion annual windfall.

Yet trump claims it’s over 200 billion yearly

I generally agree with your points, but I can assure you that the US does not import Canadian oil at a discount. Oil is a global commodity and is priced as such. Canadian heavy crudes like Cold Lake price lower than lighter crudes like WTI because of quality differential, and for no other reason. Refineries that can process heavy, sour Canadian crude (Pine Bend, Wood River), cost more than twice what a refinery capable of processing WTI costs. The crude is priced to reflect this.

My beef with Canada, and it’s a situation I tried hard to correct, is that no investment has been made in Canada to process these heavy crudes other than at Irving Oil’s Saint John refinery.
Interestingly, I did the initial economic analysis on that conversion as a young engineer at Irving.

If Canada was on their game, they would have encouraged the development of a heavy oil refinery in Hardisty, AB and converted the crude oil export lines to refined products. The trade game would be dramatically different if they had had the foresight to do so.

Sorry, probably way more information than you wanted.

Certainly not I always value your expertise and appreciate the knowledge you share. I to would like to see canada process our own crude. I would of loved to of seen energy east succeed.

Every Canadian source I can find says Canada is forced to sell at a discount due to lack of infrastructure and refineries. Right now we’re in a captive market.

Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
To much to political shit, to little Africa :-)
Spending a few years hunting out west then back to Africa!

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
