No and it's driving me crazy. I didn't fall or anything, I did have a heavy piece of equipment that I was working on recycling bang me in the shin, but I can't remember exactly when that was. It hurt for a while, but I didn't think much of it.

Right now, I'm working on a load for a Winchester 94 in 38-55. I just got this gun from an auction a few weeks ago, it was manufactured in 1979 and was still new in the box. I figured it might make a pretty nifty close-up deer and bear rifle. Working with 260 gr cast bullets and Reloader 7 powder.

I talked myself into and out of buying one for a couple of years. I had my mind made up that I wanted a Winchester Legendary Frontiersmen model 94 in 38-55. They were supposed to be collectables but that never worked out very well since they made 19,999 of them. They would come up for auction around here from time to time but like everything else gun related lately guys were bidding them up way over what I was willing to pay. Them a while back I saw one listed on an online auction in California, so I registered to bid and threw in a low-ball max bid. Long story short I wound up buying it and even after paying the buyer's premium, taxes and shipping I still got it for hundreds less than what they are selling for around here. I put together a few rounds two weeks ago and took her to the range just for a quick try out and with open sights and my aging eyes at 50 yards I was able to shoot a 2" group. This gun is going to be fun to work with and should fill in my made-up need for a close in open sighted rifle. ( I've always had to have a reason to buy a new gun)

Looks like I'll have plenty of time to get my reloading done for this year. I'm sitting here with an air cast on my right leg and was told that I shouldn't put any weight on it for at least the next 4 weeks. This whole mess started back in early November when I went to an urgent care facility with a significant amount of pain in my lower right leg. They asked me what I had done to cause the condition and I told them I had no idea I just woke up and it hurt. X-rays were taken and showed no fracture. So, they decided that I must have aggravated a tendon and with me looking forward to a pheasant hunt the following day I eagerly accepted their diagnoses. Well, the pheasant hunt was very successful albeit for the horrible pain and numbness in my leg. I laid low for a few days to let the pain and swelling pass but with hunting season starting in earnest I couldn't stay off my feet for too long. So, for the next 3 months the cycle continued hunt for a few days and rest for a few days. With my hunting season just about wrapped up for this year I decided to go back to and have them take another look at my leg. More X-rays were taken with the same results, no fracture visible. Not satisfied this time I asked them for more tests and a CT scan was ordered and performed and guess what they found that my leg was indeed broken. It was trying to heal but with me on it as much as I was it just couldn't quite get it done. So here I sit hoping that it heals and the surgery that they talked about won't be necessary. On the plus side though I do have a lot of loading to do and so far, my wife has been very good about waiting on me hand and foot, I'm just not sure what this is going to cost me in the end.

My heart bleeds at your tale of woe. At least you got your hunting season in and can reload plus it's only for 4 weeks.
Try shoulder surgery that puts you out for 8 weeks and can't reload or hunt followed by foot surgery out for another 10 weeks, can't even get to the reloading shed. Top that off with covid restrictions just after healing and the whole year ended up totally F##KED.
Hopefully you have enough reloading supplies to see you thru mate. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
My shoulder still gives me shit and they want another go of surgery. I told them the next time you get a knife near me is at my AUTOPSY, then they can do what they want I won't care.

Hope all heals up well for you, don’t rush it, I’m coming off a rotator cuff surgery myself and can really feel it when I push it too far, think of your reloading as therapy.

I'm hearing your pain mate, it sucks.
After my shoulder surgery I was told it was the most painful and slowest healing of all orthopaedic operations. At times you have to wonder if it was worth it.

@jduckhunter I can sympathize with you. a few months ago I had a biopsy taken from my leg which showed cancerous. So I had surgery and stitches and a lecture to keep my leg elevated because swelling could break the skin loose from the stitches and lead to more problems. It had a soft cast on it. then I got a call that some of the cells had escaped and more surgery needed. Repeat. so now i'm to the point where the cast wrappings and stitches have been removed but I'm still supposed to keep it elevated as much as possible and reduce standing/walking.

So I can really understand how you feel and have my hopes and prayers for you full recovery and be back in the game fields soon.

Yes, I do load 12-gauge shells. Not as much as I used to when I was shooting trap though.

Got a little bored with loading 38-55s today so I worked on one of my favorite cartridges the good old 300 Blk subsonic. It's a little weird loading bullets that are longer than the case, but they really work well for taking deer and not upsetting the neighbors.

Not problems mate just minor little speed humps in the hiway of life.
Even tho not 100% and never will be again just grab life and wring as much out of it as you can.
Nowadays I don't even look at use by dates on food, just hope to out last it.
