He is out of surgery they had tok remove his appendix and over a foot of his small intestine. So now we wait to see how sick he will get from the toxins to see if we will have to be medivaced to a specialist. Hopefully not. He will be in the hospital for 2 days to 2 weeks depending on how his body handles it. The doc that was on call is the only one that has ever done the operation up here. They wanted to medivac us to a specialty surgeon but couldn't get a guarantee on a less than 4 hour wait time for surgery and the surgeon was afraid he wouldn't make it. The surgeon said after it he is glad he did it beause judging by his gut and appendix he would have received a phone call along why he sent soeoneo a kid in their death bed or a deceased child. God works in mysterious ways
I just caught this thread and thank God your son has made it through the surgery. I admit I had to stop reading and say a little prayer before moving on to your last past.
I had an appendix almost burst when I was 10. I remember my mom being so worried that I was scared to go under the knife... Reality was that it hurt so bad I really didn't care what they did to me as long as the pain stopped.
I lost it when I seen this. If you seen him now you wouldn't see the same joyful full of life kid. But with God's help guiding the docs he will bounce back!

Praying for God's glory in all this, and that your faith will be strengthened and your family drawn closer together in love.
My son went through the same ordeal 10 years ago. We were in Houston though, so not nearly the same scare you had regarding resources.
Ultimately, I hope your son recovers completely just as mine did, and that whatever the outcome, you can thank God for the gift of your son all the days of your life!
Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx
I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
