Planning a new adventure in SA

Welcome to AH!

Welcome Suzie, you will feel right at home here. Lots of good advice given so far. There are a number of excellent outfitters that are members of AH. Do your research and book as quickly as you can. The earlier you can go in August the better, by mid to late August it is already starting to get very warm and the animals don't move as much as they do when it is cooler.

What caliber rifle are you planning to use? Between now and the time you leave be sure to get a lot of practice using shooting sticks.

Welcome- you've come to the right place!

As others said, I would recommend choosing an outfitter and locking in dates as soon as possible since August is peak season. After you lock in dates , you can probably decide on specific trophies later- or just hunt what happens across your path while you're there!

Welcome Suzie! Nothing like AH for information and getting people on their way to Africa.

Welcome Suzie
If you have any question on hunting outside the USA, please feel free to ask.
We will be at DSC, Houston, SCI if you are attending any of the shows.

Best
Robert

Hi thanks. Will be deciding in the new year on dates. Very excited. It's been far too long

I'm excited for you getting to go to Africa in 2017! I know you're going to have a great trip! Enjoy the planning!

Hi there and Welcome. It is so great to see more woman joining the site and hunting. I am a woman PH myself. Have you ever thought about hunting down in the Eastern Cape of South Africa?

Sorry did not realise my partner Juan has already been talking to you. Juan is teaching me how things work on the site as I am new to the site myself and still finding my way around the site compared to Juan who is almost permanently on the site, hehe. So I do apologise for any confusion. I just love how informative and interactive the site is. Happy hunting!

Welcome to AH.

Nice to have you on AH. I agree with the others you need to get the ball rolling for August!
Regards,
Philip

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John buzzardhilllabs@hotmail.com
NRA benefactor, areas hunted, add congo, Mozambique3, Zambia2
Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
