Penetration Test German Kinetics 220 Grain Broadhead

Perhaps they should just eyeball it and guess the speed for you.

If it is shooting 233 repeatedly then use that number and do your calculations.

I think you might be a little light for chasing something with thick grey hide. IMHO. :)
Yeah, like I said, my luck with chronographs makes your suggestion sound. Just posting the numbers for an FYI. Was interesting to see that the PSE with the radical cams shot that much faster than my Hoyt at 82 lbs. Hoyt shot the 815 gr at 214 fps. Waiting for the guys to get their other chrono back (being fixed). Will shoot again and see.............

I would opt for a heavier arrow for more momentum for elephant.

Agreed Jeff. Just doing some shooting and plugging in the numbers. Thought someone might be interested.................

Technological changes in cams turn long held "common sense" on its head.
Much "lighter" bows are chucking arrows at greater speeds.

Some engineers are making their salary I guess.

just a note - there is a German Kinetics SilverFlame product and there is also the GrizzlyStik SilverFlame broadhead version. I had a catastrophic broadhead failure with the GrizzlyStik product when the ferrule rolled back after hitting an elk rib, broadhead disintegrated. Found out they only have a 1 year warranty, my broadhead was 2 years old and had shot only 1 animal.

I've just got my grizzlystick arrows, 950 grains for the cape buffalo hunt.
The bow is a Elite Impulse 34, 80#

@Synergy have you tested them for penetration yet?

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
