For me it is about the hunt....I want to be close as close as possible....sometimes I win sometimes whatever I am hunting wins....that is also what keeps me going back...same as fishing the one that got away.....

For me it still remains the challenge of the hunt....the hours spent and the experiences gained along the way...all the other things that happened during the hunt is what makes the campfire stories....

For African hunts most, if not all, clients are piggybacking on the skills of the PH and trackers. The only thing a client has to bring to the table is fitness (and PHs accommodate even those that aren't) and ability to shoot.
So, in my view most (including myself) don't have a leg to stand on calling those taking long range shots "shooters and not hunters". We are all just shooters in Africa, what matters is shooting within one's skill set.
