Yes, in London on a business trip I visited an old book store. Asked if they had any books on hunting Africa and they said maybe. After a short search they handed me a book and it is a published for family only by George Eastman about their hunting trip. A great book.I was in Rochester last summer and visited the George Eastman House/ Museum. Eastman was founder of Kodak. When I walked into his house I was greeted by a large bull elephant and many of his taxidermy trophies from hunting in Africa. I was surprised to learn he hunted East Africa twice, 1925 and 1928 with Philip Percival as PH and Osa and Martin Johnson.
More film from Osa and Martin’s hunt
You are welcome! My early quest, of anything African Safaris, about 25 years ago, started in the Spartanburg, SC main public library, next door to my office, I found “I Married Adventure “ by Osa Johnson.
I had no idea of their story.
I renewed 2 times just to read and absorb the stories again.
I found it interesting that George Eastman helped finance some safari work, and specifically went to East Africa to photograph the magnificent wilderness, the people, majestic wildlife, and hunt.
The dawn of photography, to share images of the world and nature has always fascinated me.
Thanks sharing a great story.
