Thanks for the comments. I’m fortunate to be the custodian of this fine rifle. I lucked into it a couple of years ago when I was visiting George Caswell at Champlin’s. He had just gotten it in but hadn’t listed it yet and I made a deal for it.
I have some of the history he provided but can’t put my finger on it at the moment. I’m pretty sure this came out of a long time collection in Montana. Believe the guy had designed a bunch of PGA golf courses and heirs were selling off his large collection after he died. I am not sure about this rifle but as happened with a lot of these sporting rifles, the original owners were killed in the wars and their families held onto the rifles for a couple of generations. Many probably didn’t see the light of day for decades
I haven’t had time to shoot this one yet but will. The bore is absolutely as new and the Rigby diopter sight is fantastic and so precisely machined and positive in use.
Marc would love to see the pictures as well.Hi Spike,
Thanks for the tip. I wasn’t sure if the original records survived. I’ve followed your advice and emailed them and will post back with what I learn.
