Model 70 Alaskan | Bolt-Action Rifle | Winchester
Based on the original classic design. Satin finished and checkered Monte Carlo stock. Folding rear sight and hooded front sight. Intregral front and rear bedded recoil lugs.
Had seen a few on GB and elsewhere, the made in Portugal thing didnt really set well at first. Read some reviews and most were pretty solid. I think a few members here have or had them and I didnt recall any real issues.
One common issue I read about was a stiff safety, but that seems like an easy fix. Rifle has a lot of good features.
GB prices are near $1500, and few and far between, so went "Windows" shopping,, LOL.
Found a better deal at Hinterland Outfitters on line, $1199 and cheap shipping. It now shows low stock so probably a few left. Nobody else on line that I could find had any at all, on backorder everywhere.
Looks like a pretty neat rifle all in all, this will make two and whichever one I like best will keep and sell the other, easy peasy.
