Opinions on the Interarms mark x 458wm

What's some opinions about the Interarms Mark X 458wm? A local store has one for $950. The stock is a Hogue overmolded with the aluminum pillar and bedding. Does have the express style sights on it
I have had an Interarms Mark X in .458 Win since about 1981. Mine would s the Whitworth Express model. I have taken two cape buffalo bulls with it, and have to say that I love the rifle. I have made a couple of small adjustments. I hid the trigger replaced with a Timney and changed the safety to a Model 70 style 3 position type. With stiff 500 grain bullet loads the recoil was pretty fierce and I had it Mag Na Port ed. It's a pot more manageable now. I wouldn't sell.mine for twice that $950 figure.

Customized zastava 458, from another web site on below picture:

(I have ZKK 602, so far I made sevral upgrades. My next upgrade will be new stock, inastalling sling barrel band, installing crossbolts on action, and free floating the barrel

Upgrades till now that I made on my ZKK: installing steel German swing mounts and QD rings, scope magnum steel rings with 6 screws on front ring, zeroing the mechanical sights, adjustment of iron sights to be visible over scope mount basis, installing three position safety by AHR, and installing single stage trigger by AHR, polishing the bolt to smooth operation. )

Below iz zastava (interarms), and how it can look with a bit of touch. Photo from another web site. Personally I would go in this direction, similar to my undergoing plan for a DG rifle ZKK.

i say buy it now. I have an interterms 458 with what sounds like the exact same stock on it, i love mine. i did put 14-16 oz of lead in the but stock. i shot expanding foam in it, then bored a hole in it and placed some lead in it.

$950 sounds more than fair to me.

When I first got mine: I love my Mark X in 458WM. I purchased the 458WM along with the intended 375H&H from another forum member a few years ago, the only thing I replaced on it was the butt pad to get a bit extra LOP and a bit less felt recoil was an added benefit.

More recently: a few months ago, at the range I let a fellow shoot it, he pushed the gun away from him as he shot it, ended up having to take it to a gunsmith for repairs: cracked stock, refit the scope, and lighten the trigger to 2 pounds. I picked it a couple of weeks ago, took it to the range, it's like handling a new gun.

The 375H&H I picked up with the 458WM is like the 458WM 's little sister. Both are accurate and both are what I call good work guns at a reasonable price.

Have a Mark X in 375 Weatherby. Price was right ($550). Trigger is terrible. Shoots unbelievably well.

Would buy again.
If you replace the trigger with a Timney you will.find it to be a nice upgrade.

Did the extra weight help balance the rifle? The one I'm looking at feels a bit front heavy

it did, also got it to about 10 1/4 pounds, which is about where you want a 458 rifle to weigh.
