One question I hear a lot is something along the lines of “if you could only hunt one thing what would it be?” For my normal company the answer is either whitetail or turkey, with the occasional duck or elk guy.
So on that same note, if you could only hunt one species of plains game for the rest of your life, what would it be? What about that hunt captivates you?

Eland. Very alert and the largest of PG and age is typically more important than the horns. Also, one of few PG that’s a good tracking hunt. If I could pick 3 it would be eland, bushbuck, and warthog. After a lot of safaris they still get me really excited.

Bushbuck, they are always sporting.

Big eland bulls, and especially in the thick bush ! A huge antilope, but so shy that it requires sometimes a lot of tracking to catch up with them. And once close, I like to hear the famous "click" makes by bull, even if some old cow can do it too.

Eland, kudu, and about to hunt Roan for the first time and am told that will be a good time

1) Kudu
2). Bushbuck
3). Vaal rheebok
4). Eland
I believe I could travel to Africa and chase any of these four on a solo hunt plan every year, although I would choose not to hunt just one…

Springbok. A real cat and mouse game. Just when you get close enough for a shot they take off and circle. Try to cut them off and it's a repeat. They take off in another direction. Do this until one makes a mistake and you do get a shot. On one of my safaris I wanted a white one and we chased a bunch almost all day before getting a clear shot.

If it is about hunting at home, it is what you have in your backyard so to speak: for me, it is roe deer or wild boar.

If we speak about Africa?
For me, buffalo.

Lord Derby Eland is my first pick, then any other eland species....
Fantastic challenge to hunt them.

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
