One more mount to go - Need your ideas

Mounting with mouth open is easier said than done. I use long fine wood screws to lock jaws open on bear skulls for clients, and it is tricky. However, jaw structure on warthogs is significantly different. Difficult to find a way to run the screw through to bone strong enough to accept the screw. I used copper wire on this one ... and not very effectively.

Both these skulls need more work. SA taxidermist left too much grease in them ... among a ton of other screwups.
Yup, I agree. Tried several approaches to mount with mouth open, but none seemed viable and secure for a wall mount. So this is where I ended up - closed mouth, 3 screws from the back to pilot holes, plus a little epoxy for good measure.

I like the mounts of Nyati: simply, stilish... I always order them like that.

Good job with those.

Another idea is to just use the tusks which is the usual European treatment for wild boar. These are two warthog on German plaques designed for such large tusks.

Below that are the same pair with a couple of bush pig tusks on proportional plaques.

Absolutely incredibly beautiful! Thank you for sharing those pictures.
That was eight years ago, so a bit more crowded now.

Love the Wood Duck painting on your wall. You sir, have excellent taste, or should I say Mr.s @Red Leg has excellent taste in decorating your man-cave? :ROFLMAO:

Nope not an iota. The guest house/trophy room/bar is totally and completely my space, but I think we did a pretty good job on the main house as well.

Hi Jon,
I saw your post for the .500 NE cases. Are these all brass or are they nickel plated? Hard for me to tell... sorry.
Thanks,
