One last roadblock before Africa

Good luck on the surgery and then do the rehab! Work hard. You can do it. A positive mental attitude does wonders in healing. I had both knees replaced just over 2 yrs ago. Still some pain, but I'm headed back to Africa in a week. Best of luck.

VooDoo, you’ve got some great examples on here that have been or are in similar situations. All excellent folks! With your positive attitude and all the support, it won’t be long until you’re on the mend and planning for Africa!
Best of luck on your journey!

I sure do! The words of encouragement and shared experiences have me very optimistic and even more excited to get to Africa!

Good luck on the surgery, follow the Physical (Terrorist) Therapist exercises to the latter. Keep a great positive attitude and you will be in Africa before you know it.

You might also want to consider a good bit of dry firing while sitting in the house and I have also found that a pellet rifle and a small bullet trap in the back yard is also fantastic practice. All your fundamentals have to be solid or the pellet groups expand quickly.

I don't know if I should say "Break a leg" or not. Anyway, good luck and keep us posted on your recovery so we can rag on you to get with it. Seriously, follow doctor's orders and you'll do just fine. Just finagle a way to keep shooting.

That’s a good idea, I will have to get a couple more snap caps!!

Hahahah thank you, I definitely will!

Praying the surgery goes well!

Hope your surgery goes well. Work hard at rehab and don’t let your issue “Win”. Fight it the whole way.

All I can say is knock that second monkey off the ramp! (y)

I made it through surgery yesterday and am at home resting. Everything appeared to go well so far, just in quite a bit of pain. I’ve got a follow up appointment in a couple weeks so we will see how things progress. Thanks for the continued well wishes!

Great news. Keep strong.

Stay positive.

Quick update, things have progressed exceedingly well, no more cast and am in a walking boot with physical therapy starting Tuesday! The Doc was very pleased with how things looked and I’m pleased with how things are feeling! And, in even better news, my cz 550 in 450 rigby will be coming back upgraded by Wayne at AHR end of this week or beginning of next. It’s all coming together.......:A Banana:

Work as hard as you can in PT! I found that it really helped me.
I blew out all 4 tendons in my right rotator at 49 years old. It took 5 months to get the HMO approval to operate (I hate HMOs!) when they went in, the bone had softened. The first tendon attachment tore out. So, the had to attach them a bit differently. A year of PT and a year of self drive and I could do three sets of ten pull-ups, 40+ pushups, and 5 one are off a medicine ball pushups. So do everything the PT tells you, then drive yourself after that and you can do wonders!
Best of luck!

Oh wow that must have been quite painful! That’s great you are doing so well! I definitely will work in PT, the pain will be a small drop in the bucket compared to what it used to be! I’m looking forward to getting into even better shape for Africa!

Africa is a great motivation! You won’t regret it!
