on a lighter note...

I was watching the cartoon "Open Season" with my grandchildren right now. Cool, there's a Greenpeace gamekeeper, etc.But I remembered about the tame bear. About 20 years ago, animals were kept at hunting bases to test hunting dogs - foxes, badgers, wild boars. It is forbidden now. I knew such a bear not far from Moscow. He lived in a cage, and hunting dogs were tested on him. He was well versed in dogs, some were afraid of him, some did not perceive him as an enemy - he behaved amicably with them (these dogs failed the tests). When he came across real animal huskies, he escaped from them, climbed a pole. So when he didn't have a job, they let him go for a walk. There were funny cases. In the off-season, there were very cheap rooms there, and not hunters came there. A friend of mine recommended this place to an artist, but did not warn about local customs. And this artist is walking from the bus through the woods to the hotel, and a bear is walking towards him along the path. But the guy did not panic, but assumed that this was the norm here, and parted with the bear like ships in a canal.Unfortunately, one day the bear scared someone, and he was no longer allowed out of the cage.

The first part I like.

The second part, ehh, I was expecting a bit of humor, not as a cordial meeting and passing.

The third part is sad, takes one a$$hole to ruin things for everyone. As all the locals knew the bear, the bear probably knew most of the locals and precieved them as non threats.

Understandable precaution cause the socially accepted bear could have an unexpected bear relative or bear friend show up that might not be as tolerable to humans.

In general, you are right. Bears are dangerous animals, and they are unlikely to ever become pets, although, in my opinion, fighting dogs are no less dangerous. In any case, I would not like my neighbors to keep at least a tame bear on the site. Who knows, in nature, a bear can devour someone else's bear cub.
It is impossible to tame a wild bear, and it is impossible to return a bear that grew up in captivity to nature. There is an anecdote about how a decommissioned circus bear was released into the forest for government hunting. He didn't know what to do, he took away a bicycle from some random woman (something familiar). But when a bear on a bicycle rode out of the woods at Eric Honecker, he did not shoot.

But bears are intelligent, and they can ride a bike and motorcycle, but dogs can't. And they have personality, so specialists are able to select specimens that can be relatively socialized. Therefore, the image of the bear in our culture is in a special position. Now Stepan is the most popular, often appearing in advertisements,

but he is not the only one.

In the story that I remembered after the cartoon, there was just a combination of coincidences. In the middle of the week, there were simply no outsiders there, and the director was not notified of the arrival of the guest: there was no phone at the base at that time. So the meeting was a surprise not only for the artist, but also for the bear, but all the participants came out of the situation with dignity.

I had a dream - hunting a bear, but now I realize that I can't do it, and conservationists have greatly complicated the situation.

Reminds me of a guy who goes to his doctor complaining about reddish orange skin in his private area.
Doctor asks him about his employment, Guy replies he's a truck driver but currently laid off and staying home. Doctor asks him what he does all day, Guy responds he sit on the couch watching porn, eating Cheetos.
